Introduction: There is skill with videography, but videography is only an aspect of what we do. We put heavy emphasis on pre-production so the end result is what you desire. A video has to be engaging and interesting to the viewer. Proper planning will see to it that your video is interesting and engages its audience. A common response after someone sees our videos is that they either "get it" or that they "understand the purpose of the video."
Additionally, as mentioned in answers to some of the other questions, we're entrepreneurs. We see the bigger picture of what your video is supposed to accomplish. I'm an entrepreneur. Videography started as a hobby and now it is a side business for me. My main discipline is accounting (masters degree). Accounting has allowed me to consult with businesses and see a variety of business models. Videography allows me to creatively help other businesses, thus combining two disciplines that I really enjoy. In many instances customers don't initially understand how powerful video can be for their business. My favorite scenarios happen frequently where a customer is looking for a competitive edge, we create some web videos, post them on their website, and the customer generates more business as a result of the videos.
