"We had a several day stretch of rain shortly after moving into our recently purchased 70 year old renovated brick rambler. A beautiful fireplace wall with a built in bookcase (a favorite feature of the home) started leaking through the grout and through the bookcase. We could also hear dripping in the fireplace. A worn chimney cap that had been noted during the home inspection was suspected as the culprit (thought we’d have more than a week to fix it!). We got in touch with Greg from Masonry Services LLC and we are so glad we did. He came out and gave us an honest evaluation of the problem from what he could see, a reasonable quote, and even re-scheduled a more cosmetic-related project (with consent of other client) to prioritize ours since our home was leaking water and more rain was on the way. Once him and his crew were on the roof and took off the chimney cap, he identified further masonry problems due to quirky/shoddy original construction and poor maintenance. The job ended up being more expensive than originally thought, but given the extent of the problem, the price was still very reasonable. It was completed quickly in 2.5 days and the finished product not only looks excellent, but our fireplace and bookshelf have remained bone dry through consecutive days of heavy rain since the job was done. Before leaving, Greg and his crew even went around our house and patched up some “problem areas” — (places where there was holes forming due to cracked and chipped mortar) — to help ward off further issues until we can have some more re-pointing done. We’ll be going back to Greg for all our masonry needs in the future and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled mason!"
