How much does it cost to get your carpet cleaned professionally?

The cost of carpet cleaning is generally determined by the type of carpets, stains, square footage and number of rooms that you need cleaned. On average, a professional will charge $94 to clean one room. Two rooms cost an average of $120, and three rooms cost approximately $146.

What’s the best way to set up a consultation or an appointment with a house cleaner during the COVID-19 pandemic?

The best way to set up a consultation with a house cleaner during the COVID-19 pandemic is by using virtual, online tools. Start by performing an online search for local house cleaners. Message them to set up either a phone call or video call to perform a consultation. During this call, they can give you recommendations and may be able to estimate the cost of their services. Be sure to discuss whether they accept virtual payments and any precautions they can take to perform the job safely.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

What is upholstery cleaning?

From your carpets to your drapes to your furniture, all fabrics need to be cleaned. Cleaning upholstery, or the fabric on your furniture, removes the dirt and oils that are transferred to couches and chairs through regular use. Because furniture upholstery can be delicate and colors can fade easily, it’s often a good idea to let professional sofa cleaners handle the job. They’ll determine the type of fabric — usually cotton, linen, wool, suede or microfiber — and the appropriate method for cleaning it, either steam-cleaning or applying a dry-cleaning solvent. In general, cleaning an entire piece of furniture includes a pretreatment, cleaning, and neutralizing rinse to the body, plus removing and cleaning all cushions and cleaning all crevices.

An upholstery cleaner may clean the entire piece of furniture, on a regular schedule or by request, or do spot treatments to remove pet, food, drink, or oil and grease stains. Furniture can also be deodorized to remove the smell of pets or tobacco smoke. Furniture that’s used often, like that in your family room, should be cleaned once a year to keep it fresh and extend its life. Sofa cleaners often also offer repair services to mend tears in fabric or patch holes in leather.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile.

Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250.

Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray.

Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

How much does carpet cleaning cost per square foot?

In some cases, a quote from a carpet cleaning company will depend on the square footage of the room. The lower end of these prices will be between $0.15 and $0.20 per square foot, and they may rise as high as $0.40-$0.50 per square foot. Factors raising the price include the carpet’s condition (are there stains?) and whether they have to clean carpeted stairs, which take longer.

How much does office cleaning cost?

Office cleaning costs an average of $200, but prices can range depending on the square footage. An office that’s 1,000 square feet or smaller costs $120 to clean. Meanwhile, spaces that range from 9,000-10,000 square feet cost $880, on average.

You can get a personalized cost estimate for your office or commercial space by contacting commercial cleaners near you.

Are there ways to be safe if I hire a house cleaner when social distancing?

If you hire a house cleaner to clean the inside of your home, do not make physical contact. Stay at least 6 feet apart at all times, sanitize any surfaces after cleaning and wash your hands thoroughly. Exchange all payments digitally instead of with cash. When contacting a house cleaner, put a plan in place to ensure everyone's safety.

How can I find out if a house cleaner is considered an essential COVID-19 service provider?

A house cleaner is generally not considered an essential service sector during the coronavirus pandemic. To find out which services are considered essential, visit your city and state government, and read their guidelines. A national list of essential service providers can be found on CISA’s Identifying Critical Infrastructure During COVID-19 site. This webpage lists 16 different infrastructure sectors considered to be essential. However, not all jurisdictions follow CISA’s definitions of critical infrastructure.

Cannot believe how CLEAN my house is now 😄 Breydy and Carla did such an amazing job on our home - they did a deep clean and I never knew how clean our house could be. Will definitely use their services for more frequent cleans. Bathrooms and kitchen are spotless, and they dusted and cleaned every nook and corner of the home. Would 100000% recommend. We had a very very messy house with a lot of dog fur. The cleaners arrived exactly on time, and worked very hard for five hours and left the place as spotless as it's ever been. The price of the deep clean was very reasonable. We would definitely hire them again.

Upon closer inspection, the "deep clean" I paid extra for was not done—I don't think the cleaner even vacuumed the entire house, as a couple days later I was still finding items under bathroom vanities, and a lot of areas were not dusted. Definitely not worth the $250 I paid.

I specifically requested deep cleaning for kitchen appliances and washer dryer. I made sure to specify inside and outside of all appliances, kitchen drawers and cabinets. Gas stove knobs are oily and sticky, drawer still have marks from previous use. Laundry was not even touched to clean. All the cobwebs are still on the wall and on trims. so all instructions that I provided were not followed. Will not recommend.

Miriam was incredibly responsive, her crew did an amazing job! We needed a deep clean after some renovations and dust was everywhere. We also have cats and dogs and the crew got every nook and cranny. Our house is spotless. We used to have a cleaning service come once a month and this crew did better than any of our past services in the area. Would not hesitate to have them come again. Highly recommend!

No English speaking staff. Unfinished cleaning. Evidence of dirty cabinets shared with staff. Broke kitchen cabinet and window blinds. I still paid half to them. The service was not good and the overall experience as well. The team used to chat very well in English before the service however the team which came to do the cleaning didn’t know English at all. It was very difficult to converse. They charged for deep cleaning but didn’t clean like normal job as well. A lot of areas were left uncleaned. We had to clean the nooks and corners ourselves. It was an empty house and we had ordered move in cleaning. So the job was extremely easy because there was no furniture but still highly dissatisfied with the service. Staff damaged the kitchen cabinet and rushed while leaving the house. We would have appreciated if they had informed about the damage instead. Not recommended service.

BUYER BEWARE!!! There were three v leaning people that arrived to clean my home. First they showed up without mask and no shoe covers. I had to spend 5 minutes giving them mask and explaining that they needed to wear shoe covers or remove their shoes because my kids deal with upper respiratory which is why I don’t have carpet. I was given a quote and had a detailed conversation about deep cleaning PRIOR to their acceptance of the job. I had to called the owner multiple times because they did not want to do deep cleaning . The owner had to tell them to do it. It was one lady in particular that rolled her eyes at me and refused to do the work even after the other two workers did the work. She stood with her hands on her hip and stared me down. It was cert disrespectful and rude …I told her to leave. I was so shocked as I’ve used cleaning services before and never experienced this. I felt bad for the owner and the other two workers. However, I do believe the owner should have made it clear the work required for the job. I lost time and money.

Wow! My three level townhome has never looked better. I had some repairs and remodeling done on my finished basement and the contractors left everything covered in a THICK layer of construction dust. I’m talking about floors, furniture, personal belongings, it even got inside closed cabinets and drawers. Subirias Cleaning to the rescue! They responded to my request right away and got me on their schedule very quickly. They did an extremely thorough and detailed deep clean of my entire house, really tackling the construction dust and leaving everything spotless and beautiful. They were prompt, professional, and a pleasure to work with - highly recommend!!

Absolutely terrible and would never recommend. I hired Green Moppers company to “deep clean“ my house and I am very disappointed with the results. I have a long list below of things that weren’t done or done not well. •Agreed time of arrival was 12pm and did not arrive until 1:45 (which I had planned around baby nap times which had to be pushed back) •couldn’t tell that my house was even vacuumed there were no vacuuming lines In the carpet •master bedroom was not dusted •all mirror were left entirely streaky •living room furniture was left with dirt •kitchen counters were all gritty and a section was not even wiped clean as it still had food residue on it •fridge was not wiped down •formal living room still had visible cob web by the table •bottom of our large shelf had a lot of dust on it
