Sessions with Michale have been amazing, and my fiancé and I are absolutely seeing the benefits throughout our relationship. Michael has mastered the balance of professional yet personable. We were comfortable sharing intimate details of our relationship and ourselves from session one! Michael is clearly an expert in this field, as his techniques and activities are always eye opening and helpful. We thank God for Michael and the effect that his counseling sessions have had on our relationship!
Over the last 4 years, Marian helped me (and continues to help me) through what has been, hands down, the most difficult time of my life. Perhaps most important for this field, Marian easily combines knowledge, passion, skill, empathy, and sense of humor--as appropriate--to help you process your thoughts and emotions--even in the most intense situations. Marian has a unique ability to connect with people. She is unflappable in the face of dysfunction--and eager to meet clients where they are to work through the individual dynamics they face. I highly recommend Marian's services. I've recommended that more than 10 friends and family members reach out to Marian--and some are now regular clients of hers as well. If you still aren't sold on contacting Marian, let me give you a sense of the quality of my experience. I moved almost 2 years ago. Since then, I travel more than 60 miles round trip to continue using Marian's services. Marian is that good. Call her.
Jamie provided Premarital counseling for me and my husband and I have to tell you that I learned more about him and me in 2months than I ever thought possible. We've lived together for years and I really thought I knew everything about him, and him me. We realized that there were lots of things we never discussed, and lots of things we misunderstood about each other. We headed into our wedding knowing that we really knew how to express our love in a way that the other felt it. We learned how to "fight nice" by realizing that we really didn't fight, we simply disagreed on some things and just needed to learn how to say things in a way that the other could understand us. I know that the tools she gave us will serve us well for our entire lives together. It was worth ten times what we paid. She's kind, compassionate, funny, and understanding, and she helped us realize that marriage is an adventure and it's all about our attitude and expectations.
Raffi led an informal group which I attended along with a few classmates from Israel in the summer of 2010. We had just returned to New Jersey from studying in a one- to two-year fellowship abroad. Raffi smoothed our transition back to American life, all while volunteering his time and skills. He is extremely intelligent, insightful, trustworthy and pragmatic. I recommend Raffi without hesitation or reservation. He has a serious goal-focus balanced with a great sense of humor. Raffi is a tremendous, vital person to turn to.
Mr. Tsakounis (Thom) is a skilled and caring therapist. We came to "A Quiet Journey Counseling " center for couples counseling. My husband was very reluctant at first, but quickly found Thom to be a supportive and understanding ally. Feeling like Thom "got " him, and us, allowed our work with Thom to progress quickly. As a mental health therapist myself, I have very high expectations for fellow counselors. Thom met or exceeded my expectations! He is well versed in a number of holistic, cognitive behavioral and Gestalt modalities, and a genuinely caring human being. While my husband and I have more work to do, Thom has supported us and given us new tools to communicate more effectively in our relationship. I reccommend Mr. Tsakounis whole-heartedly!
My life and marriage a mess, I sought help from Lindsey to get me back on track towards happiness and satisfaction. Not only did I feel that I was her top priority, she was caring and professional and obviously knows what she is doing. I would recommend getting involved with Lindsey sooner than later as waiting did nothing but delay the cure for me. Pax vobiscum.
Denise has been amazing to work with. Her services have been an integral part of the recent successes within my relationships and life balance. She's made the process of counseling, something I had never previously participated in, super easy and enjoyable. Whether you're just getting started with counseling, or you're looking for a new direction in your journey towards increased mindfulness — I'd highly recommend giving Denise a try.
I've been speaking with Jessica for about three months, and I can't say enough good things about how much she's helped me change my life (and that's an understatement). She's easy to talk to, empathetic and I never feel judged, rushed. She has also given me a lot of practical tools to manage my stress, anxiety, and depression. It feels as if we are family. I am so grateful to have her!

Mommy A La Carte has changed my life for the better! Offering services and support since I found out I was pregnant and still to this day with my son being 7months old, I could not have gotten through my pregnancy, gone back to graduate school, relocated, and managed everyday life as a wife and mother of a 2 year old without Mommy A La Carte's array of services. MALC offered me weekly coaching sessions where we would cover an array of topics such as status of applying to graduate schools, baby shower and nursery preparation, ideal cities to relocate to, and daily routines to follow to help with everyday life. Not only did I gain outstanding professional advice, I also received advice and support from a fellow wife and mommy. Having Mommy A La Carte as my number one resource lifted up many burdens and allowed me to enjoy my pregnancy and be present in my everyday life and not just go through the motions. I can honestly attest that Mommy A La Carte provided one of a kind services and has shifted my life overall in such a positive manner. I will definitely be using MALC services in the future.
Greetings! My name is Kate, and I am a counseling professional in the Washington D.C. area. I have been working in the field of psychology since 2006, and I have been practicing as a family therapist since 2012. I am trained in the Functional Family Therapy model, an evidence-based, short-term model of therapy. Other areas of practice include marriage counseling as well as individual counseling. I am offering professional counseling services to clients in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. As a professional in the field, I have come to appreciate the importance of engaging the individuals, couples and families with whom I work in a setting that is most comfortable and convenient, for them. I travel to my clients at times and locations they specify. From the busy mom who has a few hours free while her kids practice after school sports to the business professional who'd like to utilize the office's empty conference room during their lunch hour, I make my services available at times and locations most comfortable for my clients. I also offer virtual therapy sessions at a reduced rate. Please check out specifics in the questions and answer section on my page. Please note I do not accept insurance; however, I believe you will find my prices to be reasonable. Because I am still in the process of fulfilling licensing requirements, I accept a reduced hourly rate for my service. Specific pricing information is located in the questions and answer section as well. Please note I do not complete formal assessments or diagnostics for severe psychological conditions. I am also unable to prescribe medication, as I am not a medical doctor.
Rabbi Slatkin was calm and sensitive. He provided a neutral and safe place for us to explore what led to my wife's affair a few years ago. He showed us new ways to communicate, and we practiced with him there. That made it easier to keep doing better when we got home. We are connecting more, and I'm starting to feel like I can forgive and move on. Our family is already lighter and healthier. We also really liked the office atmosphere, and how we did the sessions face-to-face. It cut the tension, because it's hard to be angry when you're that close with someone. We never felt like religion was emphasized beyond what made sense for our situation.
the process is convenient and tailored for the client. knowing that the demand of day to day living, our preferred method is remote communication.
I went out seeking a marriage counselor to help repair my marriage and found Dorina. It was important to me to find someone who could empathize with my situation as well as coach me through some of the more challenging aspects. Dorina offered the first appointment free so I could get a feel for her coaching style which was very helpful in making my decision. We hit it off right away and she has been very helpful in my progress. She offers reasonable rates, packages and payment plans. She's awesome, would recommend her to anyone who is seeking help for one on one or for couples.
