Absolute superb service! Talmas and his team are true professionals. They arrived 10 min early, identified root cause and things that may increase energy efficiency and air quality, offered feedback and general knowledge through the end. They cleaned up after themselves along with any debris. I will DEFINITELY use them again and highly recommend to others.

Jim and his crew were great to work with and they never made me feel as though I was just a job. Jim was very knowledgeable. Their quote was reasonably priced, and I didn’t feel as though I was being up sold. Half my home was built back in the 1940’s and didn’t have duct work or a heating unit. The other portion of my home was built in early 2000’s. It had a unit however that unit was never designed to run all my heating and air-conditioning needs. Jim rose to the challenge and he was able to create an affordable solution. I am 100% satisfy with the work HVAC2U did to keep my family comfortable. I would absolutely use HVAC2U again.

Superior Air HVAC. provided exceptional service. Their work was higher quality and more affordable than other companies that I have previously used. They also found a mistake made by a previous company and fixed it for no extra charge that will save me a lot of money on my electric bill in the future. I could not recommend them strongly enough.

Leo showed up during the time block he gave me and called ahead to let me know when he would be arriving. He did a very thorough job cleaning air vents for both of my HVAC units and 2 dryer vents in about 3 hours or so. Would definitely hire him again.

Val did an outstanding job on the my old (home built in 1952) HVAC cleaning of air ducts, coil and main lines. I have only lived in this home since January 28, 2017. Val informed me that my unit had never had an HVAC cleaning. The dust buildup and debris was atrocious. He showed me every area that he cleaned thorough out the whole process. Val was very spot-on, informative, knowledgable, helpful and most of all worked efficiently! He informed me that there is black mold growing in one part of the air duct system also and how to properly place the filters inside the slot and proper upkeep on the HVAC unit going forward. I will have to schedule another appointment for that to be done. He was kind enough to take off the old corroded, painted over white register vents and directly referred me to some one to put on new white ones. He also came back the next day, first thing in the morning to show me the proper way to set the thermostat so that the fan will not run all the time. I will definitely stay with Val's company and have the HVAC done next April as recommended by Val and refer him to any family or friends. Thank you Val for your HVAC and mold cleaning services 😊

I submitted my request on Thumbtack at almost 10pm, not expecting to hear anything until the morning. Almost 5mins after, HVAC responded, let me know they were in the area and if comfortable they would stop by and take a look. I was a bit apprehensive to the time and strangers coming in so late, however the heat was so unbearable that I agreed. I'm so glad I did! Not only did they work above and beyond to fix my VERY OLD unmaintained air conditioning unit, they did so while working late in the night (a Friday no less), and had to improvise during a brief rainstorm. The guys handle the situation like champs and by 12:30am I finally had air conditioning again. Now that's dedication!!!

Excellent service from start to finish. Luis and Joe came out to do an estimate for insulation they were curtious and on time. After a day the team came to finish the work, there was only 4-6" of original insulation left in the attic. EBRR and team showed up on time and ready to work. Half a day later we had a fully insulated attic. The crew even removed the old house fan that was leaking air into the attic and put new drywall over it. I could have gotten the project done cheaper by a few hundred dollars but none of the contractors I had come out were nearly as professional, polite, and knowledgeable as the EBRR team. I highly recommend this team.

I had a HVAC system with no cold air output. The outdoor unit was located on the roof of my condo bldg, accessible only through a small attic crawl space. Brian arrived promptly, and very quickly identified my unit, diagnosed the problem and replaced the defective part. I had cold air again within 30 minutes.

Excellent response, knowledge and price! This is the kind of customer service treatment every business should have! Although we are with Brennan’s, they were too busy to get to us within 24 hours (3-4 day wait). Hottest days of the year right now and Dynamic immediately came to our rescue! Within a couple hours of speaking with Josh, our AC was repaired! We will be working with Josh @ Dynamic Heating and Cooling for ALL of our HVAC needs from now on. Sorry Brennan’s.

JD was very nice and answered my questions courteously. He suggested me an alternative and cheaper ways to fix my heat pump. He also called the next day to ask if my heat pump still working. He came back when the fuse of the furnace and thermostat was blown due to change of battery to the thermostat. He fixed the problem and stayed on site to make sure the problem resolved. I will recommend his service to anybody who needs A/C repair.

My AC when down last Thursday. I call a first contractor on Friday he came and couldn't fixe it may bcoz of the time late call 7pm. My thermostat was completely blank. On Sunday I when back on thumbtack and call Kevin. We agreed on $90 estimates fees. I choose him becoz of the good reviews and the proximity. He came and went straight to the furnace and open it. The 5amp fuse was out... blown He change the fuse and did all the routine maintenance work. Heat pump, Furnace, thermostat Checking all the levels, flush the drain, explaining all his work. The total charge was $200 90 for the emergency call 110 for the work. I was satisfied and I would recommend him. It was the Sunday of the Soccer World cup between France and Croatia. After Kevin left we enjoyed the game and the AC running.

I had Gomez help me with some HVAC work in my bathroom. We needed to move a air vent from the floor to the ceiling due to a bathroom remodel. He was Fantastic. I would recommend him to any friend or family member. He was on time. Price was great. He explained what he was going to do and executed everything on time. Seeing as how I live in an old Arlington house, we of course uncovered issues along the way and he was able to still complete the job without jacking up the price. I cannot say the same for other contractors that I have worked with in the past. If you need Heating and AC work done in your home, call Gomez. He is a great professional.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is an HVAC system?

The letters in HVAC stand for heating, ventilation and air conditioning. An HVAC system enables you to regulate your home or building’s internal temperature (thermal control) for comfortable living and working. You can bring heat levels down in the summer and up in the winter, keeping your home or office livable year-round. HVAC systems can also help with humidity levels and regulate indoor air quality in a home or office. There are many types of HVAC systems and technologies available.

Many homes have a forced-air HVAC system. Both the heating and the central air conditioning units share a ductwork system where they either push in or pull out warm or cooled air. There are also heating and cooling systems that don’t require ductwork — such as ductless mini-splits — but work on the same principles of heat exchange. The national average to hire an HVAC specialist is $2,920-$3,670, with costs varying depending on the work you need done and the equipment you are installing.

Do you need to clean your air ducts?

Air duct cleaning is done by heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) professionals. The pros use industrial-strength, truck-mounted vacuums and powerful brushes and hoses to clean inside the metal ducts that make up your forced air heating and cooling system. The Environmental Protection Agency recommends duct cleaning if there is “substantial visible mold growth inside hard surface ducts, ducts that are infested with vermin such as rodents or insects, or ducts that are clogged with excessive amounts of dust and debris and/or particles are actually released into the home from your supply registers.”

You should also have air ducts cleaned after recent water contamination or water damage to prevent mold; after renovations or remodeling to ensure debris and dust didn’t settle in the vents and ducts; if you are having problems with allergies or asthma; or when you are moving into a newly purchased home, especially if the previous owners smoked or had pets. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) recommends getting your air ducts cleaned every three to five years, or every two to three years in regions where homeowners use their air conditioning and heater for many months of the year, while the EPA suggests homeowners have duct cleaning done as needed.

How often should you get your air ducts cleaned?

How often you should clean your air ducts depends on your situation. If you or someone in the home has asthma or is acutely allergic to certain airborne materials or pollen, regular duct cleaning may be helpful. The Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t have an official position on the necessity of air duct cleaning unless the ducts have been contaminated by rodents, insects or mold, or you are aware of particles blowing out through the vents. The EPA recommends you have your air ducts cleaned on an as-needed basis. The National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) suggests having air ducts cleaned every three to five years.

Be cautious with companies that offer “whole house air duct cleaning,” urges the NADCA. The company may be using unscrupulous tactics to upsell you once they get started. Before any work begins, always clarify in writing what the job entails and what the cost will be. To protect yourself against fraud, read customer reviews and verify that your HVAC cleaning service has applicable licenses and certifications.

Who fixes furnaces?

If your furnace needs to be repaired, you’ll want to find a qualified heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) repair technician. Each state has its own licensing requirements; some require all HVAC technicians to have an HVAC license, while others only require someone operating an HVAC service and installation company with employees to hold a contractor’s license. For example, in Alabama, the Alabama Board of Heating Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors regulates licensing, while in Kansas there is no state regulatory body and HVAC licensing can vary by region. For simple furnace repairs like changing out a filter, a trusted handyman can probably handle the job, but a trained professional should be hired for tasks like replacing a gas valve, installing a new inducer fan motor or other critical furnace repair jobs that involve dealing with gas leaks or other dangerous conditions. How much does it cost to get central air?

Prices for central-air HVAC systems will vary. The national average to hire an HVAC specialist is $2,920-$3,670 but can run as high as $5,000 or even $12,000 depending on the capacity you need and other factors. Installing central air conditioning requires an entire system that works together to draw hot air out of your home. The system includes an outdoor unit, which houses the condenser and compressor, and the evaporator coils. If you don’t have an existing duct system, ductwork will need to be installed, which will affect labor and material costs. Leaking or damaged ducts will also need to be replaced.
