Chef Kev was absolutely amazing. My event was a children's tea party. I hired Chef Kev at the last minute and he exceeded my expectations. He planned the meals for the event. There was something for the kids and something for the adults. He also set up the meal table to complement our theme/ decor. I will definitely use him again.
April with ALD Events is amazing. I hired April to do my daughter's Bat Mitzvah on June 10, 2017. As with any event a person puts on I was truly worried about how everything would turn out. To my surprise everything was amazing. When I arrived at the venue for my daughter's party April was there with a smile on her face and seemed to have everything under control With the short amount of time she had to set everything up, she got it all done. Everything looked amazing. The tables looked so pretty with the table clothes, napkins, chair covers and sashes. I wish I had a picture to post how amazing everything looked. I would highly recommend April, her services were of great quality and her prices amazing. I want to Thank You April for helping make my daughter's party look beautiful.
Dee was super responsive and professional. ‘Tam’, our party assistant, was amazing. She stayed on top of the food table to keep everything fresh, stayed in front of the cleanup, and was overall amazing. We definitely use them again for our parties. Aside: this was the first time we have ever hired extra hands to help with a house party and it was totally - TOTALLY - worth it. Babysitter downstairs with the kids, and Tam upstairs helping keep things fresh and clean.
Wow, I can't say enough nice things about Lynn! She is so easy to work with, and so warm, it's like planning your wedding with a friend. I went with day of coordination, which really was more of a month of planning the timeline and getting the details cleared up, plus actually organizing your vendors on the big day. Lynn came to the venue walk-through and asked all the right questions of venue management that I would never have thought of! She made a very detailed timeline and coordinated with all my vendors and my bridal party, she ran the rehearsal, plus she ordered the table linens, and arranged all my decorations. She went above and beyond! They day ran so smoothly because of her. She's always quick to respond to email, and great at offering advice. Her rates are a steal, and she doesn't nickle and dime you for every little thing like some planners. I highly recommend her!
Shawanna planned my baby shower, and my son's 1st and 2nd birthday parties. All 3 events turned out beyond expectations. Each theme was carefully thought out and perfectly executed. Shawanna has a very intricate eye for detail, so you can expect everything to be creatively crafted, from the invitations down to the favors. The favors are definitely always one of a kind. My favorite is the balloon arches. Hard to believe they are handmade; they look like something out of a catalog. I would definitely recommend Exclusive Bashes for anyone who is planning an event. It will surely be one to remember.
Angie of Honey Do Planners is the BEST Planner!! I needed help planning my girlfriend's baby shower. I took on the task to plan the shower myself for her because unfortunately all her close family and friends reside out of town. I had no clue what I had gotten myself into. So I decided to make it a full baby shower party with 65 guests. I did a search on Thumbtack and I hired Honey Do. Angie is very professional, understanding and kind. In a nut shell she's awesome! She helped me every step of the way answered all my questions, made herself available when needed, and gave me many options to make the event special. Honey Do knows the ins and outs of planning events. With a beautiful local office and vendors on her team, she created and crafted the event to be awesome. It was better than what I had believed I could have of done on my own. Every detail was talked about and discussed and we developed a great working friendship. I would recommend Honey Do to any and everyone who is looking for a planner. Her cost were fair and reasonable. I had so much fun and I'm very pleased it all came together. I wasn't disappointed nor were the guest or the Guest of Honor. She absolutely loved it!!! Planning for a West Point graduation is like planning a destination wedding for royalty. The weeklong pomp and ceremony of the cadets graduation and commissioning as an army officer on a highly secure and secluded army base requires months of planning. Some plan a year out. Booking hotels, helping guests navigate the campus, getting on and off base and through security check points, transportation to West Point and then around campus and town, planning for meals, seating at events, securing a spot for the commissioning ceremony, is not for the faint at heart or for amateurs. I hired a professional wedding and party planner. She booked lodging and reception hall, secured transportation service to and from post, arranged for breakfast food and snacks during commute to post, meals to be delivered to post for commissioning ceremony and food for our private reception back at the hotel. Having Michele and Laura work our annual Holiday Open House was a real game changer in how I will entertain from now on! I am a veteran party giver and love to entertain, but I need good, hands-on professional, responsible help during the event so I can relax and enjoy the party. With "We Plan- You Party" I was able to do the cooking and much of the planning for our Annual Holiday Party, then turn the aprons over to Michele and Laura with complete confidence. Since I enjoy the cooking and planning but hate the clean-up, they were perfect. Michele and Laura came in and very efficiently set up the food and bar areas, greeted guests, kept the place picked up, dishes and glasses washed, and replenished food and beverages during the event. As things wound down and after, they put leftovers away, packaging them for the freezer and fridge, cleaned everything up, party glassware was clean and boxed up for storage, plates and platters washed, dried and stacked for storage,they put table linens in my laundry room, even blew out the candles...all while I put my feet up and had a nightcap and plate of food with Hubby and the last few hangers-on. When they left the kitchen was cleaner than they found it. And , all the while, they were personable,relaxed, professional and sweet! Aaaaahhhh. Perfect party! The communication and hiring process was prompt and professional (way more than I have experienced with competitors in the past) and went smoothly and seamlessly. The bartender and server arrived on time (early actually!!), were professionally dressed and did a very good job throughout the night. The only thing that I could have asked for to give a 5 star rating was for both to be more proactive in their roles. The girls were both great, but I would have loved for them to sort of lead the way - we do not often hire people for our parties and would have loved for them to be more self reliant. That is minor really - I would definitely use Impeccable Occasions again and would recommend to friends!
From the first day I met Kisha and explained to her my plan for my daughter's Sweet 16 Party, she was sensitive to all my needs and budget. She came up with my theme and took us to the most beautiful venues. She also let us choose what we liked and didn't force any opinions on us but provided great advice. We walked into the reception hall the day of the party and it was magical, beautiful and classy. The party turned out to be so much fun for my daughter and her guests. Anyone would be fortunate to have Kisha as a consultant. I hope to work with her in the future and truly recommend her!
Hosted a surprise party at the house for a group of about 50. The team was very flexible and accommodating to help make this a success. We planned for 40 but the team didn't miss a beat when a few more showed up. They set up outside to cater this event and provided servers and a bartender! We got hit by a rainstorm and they handled transferring everything indoors and made due with a very small indoor space. Great experience. Team was very professional and accommodating to extra people, bad weather, and small indoor space!
Andrew and his team planned my wedding for 100 people in about four months. He left no stone unturned, tried to keep me on task and organized, and assisted with choosing vendors and getting contracts in place. He listened to what I wanted in terms of decor and made great suggestions and created a stunning setting for the ceremony and a gorgeous reception. He was available to handle even the smallest detail. Most importantly, on the day of, I was able to relax while he coordinated with the venue, the various vendors, and my wedding party to make sure that things ran smoothly (and that I never found out if things were NOT running smoothly) and according to schedule. I highly recommend him and his team!
In December I planned a big suprise 75th birthday party for my father. Due to getting sick prior to the party I had to change plans the day before the party and make arrangements to invite family to my house. Mrs. Kelley was very understanding of my situation and worked with me with all the changes I had to make. All appointment we had Mrs. Kelley showed up early as well as the day of the event. She had all her own equipment and supplies to decorate my home for the party. The colors of ballons matched the decorations. Everything looked amazing after she finished putting everything up. Mrs Kelley went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the Decor before she left. My father was very surprised with the party and the decorations made it that much better. I had so many people that came to the party inquire on who decorated for me, it was just that BEAUTIFUL. Mrs. Kelley is very professional and precise with her work. Any time I needed information she responded very quickly. I will definitely be using her services again in the near future.

We have a small office in Waynesboro where each year we get together to enjoy a small Christmas party complete with a Christmas dinner style luncheon. This year our budget was very strict so we were having a hard time finding a caterer and were thinking we would have to try and cook the meal ourselves and then bring it to work and try to keep it warm for lunch. and then I found thumbtack and through them we discovered the amazing Lil' Blue Cafe. Pamela came to us with her son and provided us with a delicious Christmas dinner style meal. The turkey and ham were so delicious and tender! The mashed potatoes and gravy were amazing! And my favorite was the mouthwatering macaroni and cheese! We were also treated with green beans, sweet potato with marshmallow topping and dinner rolls and cranberry relish. Everything was just so tasty that all of us are hoping and planning to invite her to cater again and again for next year. Thank you so much for being willing to come over the mountain and spoil us with your delicious cooking. Best.Christmas Party Meal. Ever!
I would whole heartedly recommend having Michelle Farmer plan your party or event. Prior to using her services I had the pleasure of attending a bachelorette party, wedding shower, and baby shower planned and organized by her. Each had a wonderful theme that was tasteful, with unique and hand crafted touches that served as keepsakes for the guest and honoree. You could tell she had developed a rapport with the client, catering staff, and venue staff. The events felt relaxed and fun, but at the same time in retrospect you could tell there was no awkward moments as things naturally progressed from games, gift openings, eating and chatting, all while she worked unobtrusively to see to the needs of the hostess and guests. As an Executive Assistant and Meeting Planner, I admired her tact, poise, and welcoming demeanor at each event. The hostesses have all sung her praise and it prompted me to use her for an event of my own. She worked tirelessly and delivered a flawless evening for myself and my friends. She graciously assisted in the development of a theme that fit my tastes and gave valuable input on how it could be tailored to me personally. Her work with the menu took into account varied tastes and budget along with the theme. She also provided hand crafted items to compliment the décor that set the evening apart and were practically Martha. Definitely use her services if you are able to set you apart from the other rounds of dinner parties and showers.
I wanted a culinary experience to my sunday wedding brunch. The brunch was from 9:30 until 2:00 sunday. Chef Jackson and and his team came in put together some wonderful flavorable dishes. My guest loved the food and the culinary experience. Chief Jackson was very nice and easy to work with, Open to try new ideas and ways of home style events. I think the event was succesful thanks to him. I would recommend him to anyone perhaps future parties we have I would consider having him come back create more flavors. I learned alot too. I would perfer some of the food prepared before the quest arrived because the guest come ready to chow down. I would place names of dishes near the food. Narrow down how many dishes to be served. I think we might have given too much options to eat. Not that its a negative. I just think the culinary experience should be knowing what your eating more hands on with the chef. Instead my guest just ate and ate and ate. I wanted them to savor and be curious about what they were eating. Want to have similar experience at their home. So my purpose for having it was too change the way people ate at home party. So I will work harder on how its presented to the guest. Chef worked hard to get the food out but I wanted him to be able to interact with the guest more. Question the guest about what they like about the dish. etc. Yes Chef Jackson did an excellent job. I give him four thumbs up. Love the food!
Chef Giovanni is not only a creative and dynamic chef, he is also a warm person. I was so relieved to welcome Chef Giovanni at my house for my dinner party, he put me at ease with his calm demeanor and ideas. We had been exchanging emails and texts the week prior to the event, he was responsive unlike other chefs I had worked with in the past. Chef had also been tasked to provide a meal for a pescatarian, gluten-free guest, and a no shell fish guest. When Chef arrived, he took several inexpensive bouquets from Trader Joes and transformed them into stunning centerpieces for my dining room table. The entire dining room morphed into a chic bistro that looked like it should have been in the south of France as opposed to Maryland. Once the first guest arrived, the smell of bouillabaisse was permeating the house and the guests were excited by the aroma but also the drinks and amuse-boushe Chef had prepared for their arrival. The amuse-boushe was phyllo dough stuffed with spiced lamb. It was crunchy on the outside with flavors of raisins, spices and lamb on the inside. This was an exceptional way to start our culinary journey! Once the guests were seated and wine was poured, the appetizer was served. It was not my favorite combination of flavors but others seem to enjoy it. Next the main course, the bouillabaisse was served. I was stunned to see how beautiful the bouillabaisse was prepared; with cilantro and lime on top and was chocked full of lobster, crab, scallops, fish. My guests were asking him for the recipe for the rue and the steps to making such an intriguing meal. The dessert was also nicely done, my guests really enjoyed the presentation and the taste. Chef Giovanni talked about what he made, helped serve the guests. He also helped pour the wine and kept the night flowing. Chef Giovanni also left me with a spotless kitchen which was the perfect end to a perfect night. I am a customer very happy with a first-time experiment with inviting a chef into my home. I think it is a great way to entertain without breaking the bank. When you consider how much time and preparation that goes into an evening like this, I feel that Chef Giovanni provides quality ingredients and exceptional service for a reasonable rate.
I first had the pleasure to work with Mommy a la Carte during my surprise baby shower. Tamika planned engaging games for us to play along with every detail of the celebration from securing the venue to the catering. When it was time for my son to arrive, Mommy a la Carte helped me plan the design of my son's nursery and to consider some of the details I wasn't even thinking about! My son's room turned out great and was functional for sleeping, changing, and those late night feedings. Mommy a la Carter helped me with the planning of my son's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd birthday parties. Tamika worked with me to flesh out ideas and think about the most creative solutions. All three birthday parties for my son turned out great! Tamika was very easy to work with was patient with me as I asked questions and she provided very thorough responses. I was impressed with her creativity and ability to 'think outside of the box.' I look forward to continuing to work with Mommy a la Carte in the future as my son gets older.
We were guests at the Inn and had the opportunity to start our day with the most amazing breakfast and selections of pastries. What a lovely surprise when Chef Terry came into the dining room to meet with all the guests. He was personable, friendly, and made us feel at home... and the food was delectable!
CraftyMom provided the entire bridal party floral arrangements (from bouquets to boutineers to wrist corsages), pew floral arrangements, candle favors AND delicious cookie favors. I procrastinated a bit so I didn't reach out as early as I would have liked but that didn't matter, the job was done well and timely. We had several in-person meetings (which helped me to figure out exactly what I liked and wanted), and multiple phone and email correspondence, so I felt in the loop each step of the way, which I appreciated. Pricing was fair and making payment(s) was simple. CraftyMom delivered the bouquets and corsages to my home at least a week before and on the day of the wedding, she delivered the cookie favors, set up the pew arrangements, and was able to assist with boutineers. Number(s) breakdown: about 170 guests, 4 bridesmaids, 1 Maid of honor, 4 groomsmen, 1 Best man, 2 flower girls, 1 ring bearer, 4 parents (of bride and groom), 1 grandparent, 2 hosts, and 1 hostess. Just awesome and easy to work with!! I'll definitely be seeking service in the future!
