We used Petstigious Pets for cat-sitting, and plan to continue to do so well into the future. Shatiya is a clearly an animal lover as well as professional, organized, reliable, and communicative. She arranged a pre-meeting to get to know us, our cat, our house, and our routine. While we were on vacation, she cleaned the litter, put out food and water, played with her, and picked up our mail and packages. After each visit she sent full reports and pictures. She is by far the best cat sitter we've had yet.

Vicky was great! She not only took great care with all of our animals, she handled my anxiety well! We received photos and notes every day with updates of the animals and how they were doing. I told her not to worry about one of my super shy cats because if she tried to find her, it would stress her out more than just being left alone...well, the first day I get a picture of that cat just chillin with Vicky! When we came home we were greeted with an, "Oh...it's you. You're back" bored look from the animals...that was GREAT! I knew she kept them so happy they were not pining away for us or stressed out. I had used another pet sitter for seven years due to convenience, but the animals seemed stressed when we returned. With Vicky, everything was great.

This is my first time ever using Thumbtack and I was a little bit skeptical, but I went ahead and booked Stef's cat sitting service as her reviews seem to be very good. At first, I booked basic cat visiting service. However, just the day before the trip, my cat got an abscess burst. I had to take her to the vet and requested some extra services from Stef, but she was very accommodating. My cat seems very happy when I'm back home, food, water and litter pan well taken care of. Stef sent me messages everyday to update me on my cat's condition. Plus points in Stef's services: responsiveness and quality. She did everything to make sure my requests are fulfilled. I can't thank her enough for putting my mind at ease while being away and my cat was sick. Overall five star service!

This company has been horrible. The first assigned sitter canceled for personal reasons. Fine, life happens. Not a big deal. Second sitter comes, she seems fearful of big dogs. Third assigned sitter has been M.I.A. She is supposed to be at my house watching my dogs right now. The company's response is "we don't have a status update right now. " Why am I paying almost 90.00 per night ?!?

They pet sit for my cat sassy. The sitter was a polite student from GW, my sassy fell in love with her and I feel very comfortable with her sitting with my cat while I'm away.

Great overnight sitter. She didn’t spend the night but checked in periodically throughout the day and stayed in my home for a few hours. I would definitely use her again whenever I need a sitter.

I am a Dog Trainer in the Northern Virginia area. For the past four years, after I am done training with my clients, I send them over to Cupid Pets. I looked around at other dog walking and pet sitting companies and none of them meet my standards like Cupid Pets has for my dogs and previous clients.

Crissi has been taking care of my cats (and watching my house!) whenever I go away for many years now. With her knowledge, overall capability and degree of integrity, I am able to relax and enjoy my vacation, knowing all will be taken care of. I rely completely on Crissi for pet sitting and can recommend her without hesitation.

Walks N Love is a loving, responsible pet sitting/walking company that I would highly recommend. We used their services for at least 5 years and they truly made a difference in our beloved 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier's life. They gave our "JR" daily doses of the mess he needed & massaged him when walking was difficult due to Arthritis. JR was truly our child & at the end of his life was in awesome hands during the day while we worked. Walks N Love truly made a difference in our dog's life!

Deb and her team did a wonderful job with our crazy pup, all of our requests and instructions were followed to a 'T' and we had several text updates (and a great note!) throughout the day. We are excited to have Pet Buddies sit for us again, next month! Highly recommended and exceptional service!

C-PUP pet sitting service is the best thing since sliced bread. We have hired Shannon's service a number of times over the last year. Most were for pet/house sitting for one week or longer. We could not be happier with speed of booking, quality of service, and prices. Prices are far better than most kennels and we get the added home security benefit of someone in the home while we travel.

When I met Kevin my expectations were low for my dog. He seemed to be pretty much out of control and I was told by several other trainers that his breed could not be trained. When Kevin came in the first day he got my dog to sit and actually follow a command. He accomplished more in one day then other trainers did in months. As the time went on I saw my dog's Behavior change drastically. He became an overall better dog and seemed much happier. Also as he was training Kevin trained me as well. I realize that I was doing a lot wrong and that was the cause of a lot of his behaviors. I realized in order for my dog to be better I had to be a better owner. All of this I learned from Kevin. I thought I was a dog whisperer until he showed me the right way to do it. Highly recommend Kevin because he doesn't have a method where one fits all. He takes the time out to learn your dog and customize the training. He also educates himself all things animals. You can contact him and get advice on just about anything for your pet. And if he doesn't know at that moment he will find out for you. It's hard to find people who Do It For the Love of Animals. Kevin is one that clearly has a connection with animals that allows you to be comfortable with him and the care of your dog. Having Kevin train your pet would be the best thing you can do for your family.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

      • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
      • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
        • 45-minute visit: $28.
        • 60-minute visit: $32.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
        • 12 hours: $100.
        • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
