Rudy is an honest, hard working roofer. He reached out quickly, provided a fair estimate, and suggested the right approach for the job (roof repair/replacement) and even included some extras. He took a small deposit to pay for materials and showed up on the agreed time and day. He and his crew did the work well and were careful in cleaning up the debris. Choosing a reliable roofer is important, and Rudy did well on all counts. From personal experience, beware of others that operate a "chuck with the truck" scam business and offer cheap(er) solutions. These usually are too good to be true!

Luis contacted me immediately and set a time to come to my house to look at the fence and determine the amount of work to be done. He showed up on time and provided a quick estimate. The day of the work, he arrived when he said he would, worked quickly, and made repairs to fix several sections of our split rail fence. When he completed, we walked through to look at the work. I recommend Luis and plan to work with him again.

Just thought I'd give credit where credit is due. I don't normally give reviews, but thought I should in this case, as the whole project went so smoothly. This has not always been the case for us when hiring contractors in the past. Shane is hard working and dependable. He has many years experience in a great number of construction / contracting fields. We recently had him do some work for us in a commercial recording studio, installing an antique door, (antique for aesthetics) and the end result was great The door and header above are level, look neat and tidy, and finish and trim are done to a high standard. Couldn't be happier. I might also add, that Shane's prices were fair and reasonable, and throughout the project he conducted himself in a professional manner. Shane also paid respect to his surroundings, in so far as nothing was damaged in the studio, and he took care in cleaning up after himself when the work was completed. He also kept the work area tidy while the work was in progress. We will be calling Shane in the future, as we have some outdoor trim, fascia, and soffit that are in need of repair. To cut to the chase... I highly recommend Shane if you are in need of any sort of renovations, or need help with any other construction related upgrades or repairs.

I hired Antonio (Tony) Sanchez from Renaissance Restoration to complete a kitchen renovation this past fall (sorry I did not get around to completing this review sooner!). I did all the demolition, but the job included lights and electrical, plumbing repair, cabinet and counter top install, appliance install, and painting. Tony gave a very reasonable estimate and personally worked on my project with his assistant from start to finish as opposed to having one of his employees complete the job. As he began the job, he soon realized that virtually nothing from the original construction was square (townhouse was built in 1987). However, that did not phase him as he had the skills to adjust making those imperfections unnoticeable in the end. In addition, Tony has skills in most of the trades which meant that he did not have to sub different parts of the job out; he did all the electrical, plumbing and carpentry himself. The best part of my experience working with Tony was that he discussed and explained different options or ways of completing a task to ensure there were no surprises, and I was impressed with his willingness to even teach me a little along the way. He was flexible in allowing me to have a friend install the tile floor and was understanding of my need to stick to a rather tight budget. There are only two comments I could make for overall improvement: cleanliness and timeliness. On a couple of occasions, I had to discard empty food containers and drinks that had been left behind. I attributed this to oversight and could be easily improved by making an effort to clean up the work site after each day of work. Considering it was not a space I was using though, it was not that big of a deal. As for timeliness, the project took longer than expected to complete. However, I know that my involvement did have some impact on the schedule and the fact he was doing the work himself while still managing other jobs is a factor. I would not hesitate to bring Tony in for another project in the future. I am completely satisfied with his work and would recommend him to anyone.

Great customer service!!! Very professional and responsive. I signed the agreement and then the roof started to leak - they came out to troubleshoot and expedited the delivery of materials. Another storm and more damage to be repaired. They were very responsive and kept great communication with the changes in the weather and scheduling. The work was great and clean-up was outstanding. You didn't even know they were there. I would highly recommend this company. Keep up the great customer service, it is hard to find these days and really does make a difference.

If you’re in need of a reliable, honest and get-it-done general contractor for your home remodeling needs, Al and his crew are the GO TO GUYS! We recently had a rather large basement remodel project where we took an unfinished space (approx.. 900 sq. feet) to a home office/ dental laboratory finish. There were a lot of moving parts involved – all new electrical/ mechanical/ plumbing; installation of egress & small sliding window(s), walk-out door w/ retaining walls and pavement; added bathroom & work/equipment room. Al took the design plans from a paper to presence, and really worked with us to stay on time and on budget. From the initial consultation, he took his time to go over details of the project and provide us with a written proposal on the spot. What was also appreciated was that he used upgraded materials rather than standard builder supplies, which really makes a huge difference in appearance! Al and his guys are meticulous, detailed & very clean – at the end of each work day, the floors were always swept & materials put away. Another consideration for us was trust since my husband & I weren’t home during the day. I can say with complete confidence that you can trust Premier Home Services to do their job, in your home without supervision. We will definitely use them again for our next home project. Thanks Al!

Money was never an issue I could had spent thousands of dollars with other well know company for a very crapy job. Valle remodeling has been my greates experience for being a first time customer and renovation experience. My wife and I are thinking to invest I another property and let them take care of the rest very trustworthy and for the money and experience Can't ask for more. I fully recomend his company to future prospects, family and friends. Thanks again for such beautiful job done at my place.

We are so happy to have found Marvin and his crew at Baiza Construction! It's been a year since Marvin completed the project of turning our fixer-upper into a beautiful home and we couldn't be happier. The renovations were extensive: they knocked down a wall and installed a modern kitchen, moved the location of a bathroom and gave us an amazing walk-in shower, sanded and stained hard-wood floors, painted, gave the house a new roof and all new windows, while insulating everything well so we will save money on heating and A/C in the future! They did a lot more, but too much to list. We keep going back to Marvin to do additional projects as needed. Marvin has been very good to us, he does great work at very fair prices. He's also a really nice guy who really wants to make sure we are happy with the results. The only problem? He's so sought after, it may be hard for him to find the time to respond. I think a lot of bad reviews are due to him just being so busy. My suggestion to him is to hire an administrative assistant to help with all the project scheduling, invoices, and other boring office stuff that I think he doesn't like to do. Also, maybe find a way to clone himself ;)

Months ago, I looked for someone to do a small painting project on Thumbtack. And I ended up with a brand new home. Christian, Jessica, Hector and the rest of the team at 5th Gen Group honestly do miracles. We own a 100+ year old row home in Washington DC and we've had problems ever since we moved in five years ago. After dealing with four different contractors that left me unsatisfied, I tried Thumbtack (at that time, new in the DC area). Christian came out to do an estimate and I was impressed by him from the get go - as a woman, I hate when contractors act like I'm stupid or uninformed. Christian never did that, and he answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly and would defer to my wishes. We initially contracted for a gut remodel of our ancient kitchen and leaking bathroom. Christian's professional opinion was heavily appreciated as well as his vision - he instantly "got" the feel of a space and spent a lot of time listening to not only what we wanted, but how we would use the space and what we planned for the house in the future. Of course, the best laid plans always go awry - we knew our house had a few "handyman specials" but once Christian opened up the floor in the kitchen, we realized we were really in for it. Down there was a hidden mess of rotting wires, missing piping, garbage from the last renovations, and rotted-out beams. Overnight, our budget doubled. I personally wanted to die. But Christian calmly lead us through the process, helped us try to salvage our murdered budget, and focused on explaining the trade-off in home values. We ended up with an additional half bath downstairs (because really, what was another 5K at that point?), brand new kitchen (with a small bar!) a brand new stairwell and relocated laundry room, and a brand new bathroom with a shower (after 5 years of an ancient leaking cast iron tub). Christian isn't completely perfect - he's totally a perfectionist, and if you are one too, be prepared for some long conversations. There is an epic texting exchange over the bathroom tile that I may print out just to see how long it really was. But that's about the only thing. Also, for the other ladies on here- I always hate opening my home to someone because I have had bad experiences with contractors who were, at best, creepy. Christian and Hector were completely professional, and they really went the extra mile to make sure I always knew who would be in the house, when they would arrive, and how to reach both of them. Christian also has a lot of loyalty and integrity toward his clients - he is always fair, both in pricing and in the treatment of your home. He broke a small appliance - the only reason I knew was because he called me when he was purchasing an (upgraded) replacement on his own dime. All renovations are hard projects, long projects, and frequently frustrating. There was definitely a day when I wanted to kill Christian for sending me out to two different quarries in far out Virginia right around rush around. But when I stepped into my home for the first time, I couldn't stop smiling. And when we finally scrape together the budget for a third floor extension, I know exactly who I am calling.

Our tech was Jon- he came out on a bitterly cold day, patched our roof, took lots of pictures and also recommended a repair on our chimney. We had to reschedule the gutter cleaning due to the cold but I am confident it will work out.

Arm and Hammer did a serious remodel on my family room. A complete teardown, replace floor joists, re-trued the walls and ceiling and they delivered a great job. I have found that many contractors don't get the details right. Tim's crew finished the ceiling and walls in a manner that people who have visited my house have noticed. How many times have you seen poor finish work detract from a major remodel? A sign of a serious contractor includes the trade subcontractors he brings onto the job, they were professional both their technical skills and how they went about delivering their services in my home. Tim's HVAC guy corrected a chronic problem with cold spots in the room. The electrical guy was so very professional as well. I highly recommend Arm and Hammer, great quality and good people.

I needed my leaking roof repaired. Garrett came out and looked everything over. He was very sociable, asked questions, as well as listened to my questions. After emailing back and forth, we finally agreed on materials and price, which I thought was quite fair for the amount of work needed. He would have started on the day planned, but bad weather set him back a couple of days. He kept me informed about the status of when he could get to my house. The group came out early and got the top section done, but old man winter came in quickly and progress had to be stopped, but at least they got to complete the top section. 2 days later they were back at it, bright and early, and stayed until late afternoon and completed the job. It looks great. I couldn't be happier the way it turned out. Garrett and his crew are polite, quick, and skilled workers. I highly recommend them!
