Recording our first album was such an undertaking and I don’t know how we would have done it without Will and BRC Audio Productions. Throughout the process BRC was attentive to our needs, thorough and detailed from start to finish. You won’t find a better studio in Kansas City. It was a great experience and worth the investment. I look forward to coming back for the next album.

I’ve recorded 3 albums at BRC and have been involved with numerous live stream productions. The quality is always great. Everything is done with attention to detail and on time!

Will Crain runs the best recording studio in the Midwest hands down! I highly recommend BRC recording studio for their expertise and value. I have done several world class recordings there that have received international acclaim.

Will Crain is great to work with. He is a complete professional, whose skills as an engineer and a musician with a great ear are so valuable in the recording studio. Highly recommended.

I've discovered that the more I work with BRC, the more I want to work with BRC. My first contact with them was to master a recording. The next recording I produced, I asked BRC to mix and master it. The current recording I am working on, we tracked in their studio, and will soon mix and master it as well. They are an excellent, full service, recording studio.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My rate isn’t low for the area, but you get what you pay for! I am efficient and don’t waste your time, and if you come prepared you’ll be surprised at the affordability.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I start with a good line of communication about the nature of the project - what it’s about, goals for it, timetable, etc. I like to really nail in what the desired “sound” is obtain whatever reference material the client can give me. I also seek to ascertain the scope of the project - to have an open-ended or indeterminate arrangement is unprofessional and a recipe for complications, so I like to establish clear parameters for each phase of the working relationship. Both parties will sign a client engagement agreement so that there is no confusion about what is expected of me and when it is expected by.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I went through the program at the Institute of Audio Engineering Arts, have been mentored in music and engineering my whole life by my father Bill Crain (founder of BRC), am a highly trained and experienced professional musician, and have worked on dozens of projects.
