Introduction: Atomic Photography has been in business for over 9 years, and we have strived to empower women and strengthen their self esteem with a truly fun and unique portrait experience. Atomic Photography has one goal in mind that we discuss with our clients: Just Be the Best You. You are the star of the shoot, and it's a humbling experience for me to be able to capture someone's essence, their personality, and their happy spirit. We apply this to our high school seniors, brides, grooms, families, kiddos, and even pets! Working with us is fun and easy! My job as a photographer is so rewarding. My first and foremost goal is to give my clients a fun and empowering experience. For me, photography is the way I get to experience the world through other people, from their wedding, to their first born, I am part of those moments with them. It's also a way for me to express my passion for art and for spreading happiness. As a lover of beauty, I know what I see in my head, and I want to make that vision come to life. Something that has been very important to me is spreading the love. I continually strive to educate, share information, and mentor young aspiring photographers, and help them achieve their own success. I am currently part of a non-profit studio collective that offers free classes and promotes education in film and digital medias.

Rachel and her crew were a ton of fun to work with! I did the Warbird photo shoot with her and a group of other girls. There were a few snags with the studio, but she handled it like pro and everything was seemless. Proofs and photo edits were done in asome promised!

I first hired Atomic Photography to shoot my wedding. Racheal was organized, efficient, easy to contact, and fun to work with throughout the process. She shot fantastic photos, and got them edited and back to us incredibly quickly. I loved working with Atomic so much I later did a pinup shoot, which was a BLAST. I'm usually pretty low-maintenance, but getting dolled up and playing the part of bombshell was surprisingly empowering. Racheal's great at pose coaching and choosing the right shot--I look natural and fabulous in all her photos, despite my natural tendency to be super-awkward.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are based upon a sitting/session fee that includes hair/makeup, and a consultation. Any prints and/or products are so separately. I require a $100 retainer towards the final balance of your sitting fee. The rest of that balance is due the day of your session. Payment arrangement on prints and products may be made, I have several flexible options available.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to schedule a consultation so that we can get to know each other a little bit, and help you to feel as comfortable as possible. We discuss your needs, ideas, props, wardrobe, and hair, and/or makeup services. From there we set a date and time, and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied entrepreneurship, fashion merchandising, marketing, and photography at JCCC, and have been in the industry since 2009. I have a knack for adapting to any event, location, atmosphere, and changes. I have been freelancing for Lawrence Magazine for about 3 years and I have had the opportunity to photograph many different situations, from Tea Parties, to Harry Potter themed concerts.
