Our second experience with Zen Windows was as good as the first. Had just 2 windowsinstalled, but the installers were able identify 2 sources of leakage on an existing window and made those repairs. I like dealing with Zen Windows. They are knowledgeable and no pressure, offering very competitive prices for quality windows.

I replaced 15 windows in a two-story home in Kansas City north and wanted to leave a review that's actually useful to someone doing the research I did, not just a thumbs up.I got three competitive bids before deciding to go with Zen. I specifically avoided the high-pressure national chains and wanted a company that would give me a written itemized quote, let me think it over, and not show up at my door with a "tonight only" discount. Zen fit that description. My contact Luke sent a detailed proposal by email, answered questions over several days, and never once pushed for a quick decision. When I asked hard questions about the fine print, such as what happens if measurements reveal problems after I sign, how payment works if something is incomplete at installation, whether the exterior trim work was truly necessary, and he answered everything clearly and in writing. That mattered to me.We replaced 20-year-old single-pane builder-grade single-hung windows with Soft-Lite Classic Plus double-hung windows. The Classic Plus includes frame reinforcement, foam-filled sashes and frame, double-pane LowE+ argon-filled glass, and tilt-in sashes. We added a Solar LowE glass upgrade on the sun-facing bedroom and front room windows. All windows are ENERGY STAR certified. Coming from single-pane windows, the difference in comfort and noise reduction was immediate and VERY noticeable.The ordering process was easy. After signing, an installer came out for a precision measurement appointment then the windows were manufactured locally by Zen. It was important to me that even after the initial consultation, second precision measurement visit and final proposal nothing was actually locked in for the manufacturing step without my approval. This multi-stage approval is not something every window company does and it's worth asking about when you're comparing bids.The installation crew were shining stars and I want to spend some time highlighting them because they deserve it. The two men who installed our windows were polite, professional, and genuinely easy to have in your home for two days. Before touching anything they explained what they were going to do and in what order. Any time I had a question they stopped and answered it fully. I hadn't removed all the blind hardware before they arrived, which the contract says is the homeowner's responsibility, and they removed it themselves without a word of complaint. That's the kind of thing you remember. The project took two days. The first day covered both interior and exterior work across the house. The second day was dedicated entirely to the exterior finishing. When they left each day the house was completely clean, inside and outside. Not a scrap of old window frame, not a piece of caulk, not a wood chip. They hauled away all 15 old windows and every bit of debris. I've had contractors leave a job site in worse shape than they found it. This was the opposite.We paid $14,500 for 15 windows including installation, exterior metal wraps, removal and haul-away of old windows, and full cleanup. No deposit was required (IMPORTANT) and I didn't need to pay anything until the job was done. I paid by eCheck so I got an additional discount, which equated to approximately $750. Another selling point to me, because the other companies I had bid the project did not offer this, is that the warranty is transferable and has lifetime coverage on labor, materials, glass, hardware, and screens, with no transfer fee (relevant if you plan to sell, because buyers will ask).The bottom line I offer is to get multiple bids. Ask for itemized quotes. Ask hard questions about the process before you sign. Zen held up well under that kind of scrutiny, and the crew that showed up to do the actual work was exactly the kind of people you want in your home. Sean, Kansas City MO (64157)

Zen Windows just finished installing our new Softlite Classic Plus windows and it was a top notch experience from start to finish.Luke, our sales rep was very professional, responsive and made the sales process easy.Catherine, our customer service rep was always responsive to any questions we had and would give us weekly updates that were always on time.Patrick, our installation manager was also responsive and prompt at following up with window production updates and installation timeframes.Story, the installer team manager did a nice job of taking the time to answer my questions when he originally came out to measure our windows and following up as to when the actual crew would be coming out to install the windows.The install team was prompt and worked very hard. They did a great job removing the old windows and installing the new ones.I'm very happy I chose Zen Windows and the Softlite Classic Plus line.

I had Zen Windows out to replace my old windows on 05/04/26. Everyone I dealt with was professional and kind. The biggest take away, however, is how much cooler my home is. I waited to do the review until we had some warmer days so I could see if the windows made a difference. I also love the double hung options. One draw back is the two windows in my living room came with cracks in them. I've been assured that they ordered new sashes and they will be replaced.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Zen Windows pricing differs for each project as all windows and doors are made custom for each homes specific project. We believe in upfront and fair pricing and not in marketing tactics such as large discounts or free windows to win our clients over.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Zen Windows is an online based replacement window and door company. What this means is that we do not come into your home with a pushy 2-4 hour sales consultation, instead we discuss your project with you over the phone and via email. We then provide you with a quote for the replacement project. If/when you choose to move forward with our company, we then have our installer come out to take exact measurements prior to your new doors and windows being made custom for your project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our installers have been installing windows for over 20 years and are experts in their craft. With our 100% lifetime and transferable warranty you can be sure that we will do the job correctly, the first time.
