Divorce case. Myndee got hired after I struggled to get good local counsel. She stepped right up and got my case headed in the right direction. She writes motions with such great power and quotes of law, you will win at the appeal level if not in court. I've learned the judge may not rule correctly but with Mrs Lee on your team your appeal is indisputable. The higher courts cannot overlook the laws she quotes. Mrs Lee isn't afraid to stand up even to those big bully type attorneys, she puts them in their place. She is an mazingly strong lady! The "my law" filing system online is amazing too. You can read everything she has submitted at anytime you wish to look at it. Simply log on and review. Mrs Lee is the best attorney I have ever worked with, and I've worked with a bunch of them... With attorneys like her the courts will be a more balanced system.. Thank you Mrs Lee for all you have done for me!

He called the very next day, he explained everything in detail. He took the time to answer my questions and let me know how the process would go. He made an initial appointment with me right away not weeks down the road. His prices were very reasonable and explained why lawyers have such a varied rate that they charge.

Excellent service and I saved a bundle in tax credits and deductions my prior tax preparer had neglected to apply. I highly recommend Mandy Shell's Tax service. She is also a lawyer and keeps up to date on tax breaks and other key changes that help the taxpayer save money. Very reasonable fee - much less than I paid a different service last year, and Mandy got me much better results!

I have utilized John Campbell on several occasions (for our will and a court case) and would only recommend him to others whether in Kansas or Missouri based on his knowledge, experience and demeanor. Most impressive is how he handles the court room - his professionalism is far above what I've noticed of other lawyers. What I was amazed with most is how he respects all parties choosing his strategy and words well which I think is part of his success. He wins people over quickly. If you want to choose someone with great knowledge, who puts his customer first and who you can trust to get the job done, it's John Campbell.

2 year ago, I had a license suspension , due to having a misunderstanding and not paying a speeding ticket in full. I immediately wanted to resolve this issue, but thought maybe I should get a lawyer for advice and help. I was recommended by a friend Niko. After our first meeting he helped me evaluate the situation, and walked me through what legal process was needed. All in all everything was resolved in a timely manner, and Niko helped make it as stress free as possible . Some words I would use to describe him for future clients would be extremely professional, efficient, trustworthy, reliable, not pushy, and he truly wants to help get things taken care of.

About

We are traffic DUI lawyers available at 6 locations in Kansas City. For nearly two decades, The Traffic Lawyers of Kopecky Law, P.A. have represented thousands of clients in various traffic matters, ranging from speeding tickets to complicated DUI or DWI cases. Traffic law is our life, and we spend most of our day in courts all across Missouri, Kansas, and Iowa. We have several offices in the Kansas City Metro Area and one in St. Louis where we meet clients. However, we do a significant amount of work with clients completely over the internet or over the phone. Our goal is to make it as easy on you as possible. We know our clients are very busy people and often don't want to waste time coming to our physical offices if they don’t have to. We try to work it, so you either won't have to go to court at all or typically just once for the more complicated and serious cases. Because we do such a huge volume of cases, we can do your case cheaper than most of our competitors and offer very reasonable prices. The Traffic Lawyers of Kopecky Law, P.A. holds the highest rating (A-V) a law firm can hold for competency and integrity (Martindale Hubbell). Its founder and lead counsel, Christopher E. Kopecky, is a teaching lawyer. He is a professor of law at several colleges, including Avila University and Rockhurst University, where he has been teaching litigation for the last seven years. He also regularly teaches lawyers at continuing legal education seminars for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. He is a judge pro tem for Olathe Municipal Court and is past chair of the Municipal Courts Committee of Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Mr. Kopecky was recognized as "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal for the last five years, and was also in the first graduating class of the Greater Kansas City Bar Leadership Academy. He has been interviewed and quoted by NBC Action News, the Kansas City Star, The Kansas City Business Journal, The Kansas City Small Business Monthly, and Missouri Lawyer's Weekly. He was also featured on a radio show called “The Entrepreneurial Moment” wherein he gave advise to other entrepreneurs about how to achieve the American Dream by focusing on customer service. He received his bachelor's degree from Rockhurst University in 1988 with a triple major in Psychology, Philosophy and Economics, and his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1991, where he was a staff editor of the St. Louis University Law Journal (Law Review) and received an academic award for having the highest grade. All of our attorneys and paralegals are top notch and have been carefully screened to have exceptional “bedside manner”. We know that communication is very important as well as privacy. Many of our clients are very particular that their spouse or parents (or kids) don’t find out about their “embarrassing situation,” and we go out of our way to respect that, while on the same note, make a point to stay in touch with our clients and let them know what is going on, every step of the way. Our pledge to you is that we will handle your case promptly, ethically and with your best interest at heart. We work in a team environment and try to leverage the knowledge of all our attorneys to get the best possible result for you. We will keep you informed, explain to you your options, and let you make the decision that is best for you. It is our sincere belief that when someone refers to us a friend or family member, they are paying us an extreme compliment by trusting us to do a good job. This is a committment we take very seriously. We are also honored to say that we have been hired to represent many lawyers in their own cases, as well as being entrusted to represent their family members and clients. In fact, lawyers from most of the big law firms in the metro send us their clients as they know that not only are we in front of the judges and prosecutors everyday and know the law readily, but we can usually do a traffic case more economically and efficiently than they can. Why not hire a “big firm” lawyer at a “small firm” price?

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does an immigration attorney do?

Immigration lawyers help their clients through all phases of the immigration process. Experts on immigration law, they are legally qualified to represent U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented immigrants. Immigration lawyers also provide assistance to visitors here on student, work or travel visas, and can represent clients who may have an expired visa or who have overstayed their visa.

You can hire an immigration lawyer to assist you with petitioning for renewing a permanent resident or green card, navigating the naturalization process, submitting an employee-based petition for a work visa, filing a petition for a family member, or representing you or a loved one who is facing detention or deportation, as well as replacing, extending or changing a current visa, green card or work permit. The immigration process is highly complex, with multiple hearings, paperwork and requirements. Hiring a legal expert to represent you can help you make your best effort in the process. When researching immigration lawyers, it is very important to verify their qualifications and find a reputable attorney. Read reviews and verify that the immigration lawyer is licensed by your state before paying any fees.

How do you find a good real estate lawyer?

If buying or selling property feels overwhelming and the thought of finding a good real estate lawyer seems daunting, you’re in luck. There are some simple steps to follow for finding a trustworthy, affordable real estate lawyer to help with your property and legal needs.

  • Determine what kind of real estate lawyer you need. Many states require a real estate attorney to handle sale closing documents. For more complex matters such as a real estate deal gone awry or foreclosure, you’ll want to find an attorney who has successfully handled cases like yours.
  • Look for online reviews of real estate lawyers in your area. Verify that they have proven experience closing or winning cases like yours and that they are in good standing with the state bar association.
  • Choose two or three lawyers to interview. Many offer a free consultation to learn about your case and provide information about rates. For standard real estate closing services, in-depth interviewing might not be necessary.
  • Ask about their rates and whether they charge by the hour or provide services for a flat fee. Ask whether a retainer is required, and what the total bill should be for a case like yours.
  • Ask for a write-up of the services that will be covered by the projected costs.
  • Make sure you like the real estate agent and they treat you with respect. Confirm whether they or another person will be working on your case and make sure you’re comfortable with all members of their team.
  • Pay the retainer and hire your lawyer.

What is a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer fights on your behalf if you’ve been injured physically, psychologically, economically or in reputation. This injury may be the result of neglect or malicious intent of another person, or it could be at the hands of a business, government or other entity. Personal injury lawyers specialize in tort law, which is the law of civil wrongs like car accidents, company wrongdoing, unlawful imprisonment and more.

To become qualified to be a personal injury lawyer in the United States, a person must earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from a law school. Most states then require the person to pass the bar exam to become licensed to practice law. Unlike many attorneys who require a retainer, personal injury lawyers often work on contingency fees. This means that in lieu of payment upfront, they receive an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement in case of a win.

What does a real estate lawyer do?

A real estate lawyer represents their client’s best interest in all matters related to the sale, purchase and ownership of real estate. They are experts in real estate law. In states that require a real estate lawyer to close home sales, the lawyer must review and finalize all documents before the deal can be legally completed. Real estate lawyers also help clients legally protect their rights when entering, exiting or renegotiating a real estate deal. You can hire a real estate lawyer as an individual or as a business. A real estate lawyer can help with negotiation, addressing mortgage fraud, managing foreclosures and bankruptcy, transfers of titles and deeds, property ownership disputes, zoning issues, creating a co-ownership contract for joint purchase of a property, and much more. Real estate lawyers can also protect you from issues that result when a known problem was not properly disclosed by the previous owner. Overall, real estate lawyers are an added cost when it comes to buying and selling property, but they also ensure your best interests are met, and that you and the people you are doing business with comply with the law.

What kind of lawyer does wills?

No one likes talking about death, but it’s better than leaving your children or siblings to sort out your estate. A clearly planned will can make the time of mourning easier for everyone. An estate attorney will develop a legal will, create trusts on your behalf, and ensure the proper execution of your estate after you pass away.

Family attorneys and estate attorneys, also called probate and wills attorneys, can each prepare wills. The type of lawyer best suited to prepare your will depends on your situation. Most family attorneys provide services to prepare basic wills, including bequeathing property and personal items to family or naming a guardian for minor children. However, estate attorneys specialize in preparing wills in more complex situations. Consider hiring an estate attorney if you:

  • Have a large number of assets, especially those subject to estate taxes
  • Want to create a trust, such as allowing a spouse to live in your home until he or she dies and then leaving it to your children, or set up long-term care for a beneficiary
  • Have an ownership stake in a business
  • Expect someone to contest your will
  • Want to disinherit your spouse
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
