FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To book a session, I require a signed contract and $100 retainer to hold your session date. The retainer is credited towards the full session fee. When I first arrive at your home, we'll talk for awhile and get to know each other so you feel comfortable. I might get down on the floor and play with the kids, too! During the session, I'll become a part of your family, experiencing all the moments of your day right along with you. After we photograph the session and I edit the photos, we'll meet again for an in-person viewing and ordering session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background is in psychology and childcare, and I feel that really helps me connect with people and make them feel comfortable. It can be daunting being photographed in a documentary-style for the first time, and I know how that feels and do my best to put everyone at ease. Then we can start capturing those sweet, genuine moments!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing posed family portrait sessions, and I just didn't feel passionate about the work. When I discovered documentary storytelling photography, I knew this was the direction I wanted to go. This type of work is so much more personal and meaningful. I'm so passionate about photographing family connection the same way I photograph my own family at home.
