Math Tutoring
Todd has worked with my daughter for the past 2 years. In two years of tutoring Todd was always on time and he is extremely reliable. He also stays late if needed. Todd is very familiar with my daughter 5th grade math curriculum. He is very patient and great with kids. I am highly recommending Todd if you are looking for a math tutor.

Math Tutoring
I struggle with greatly math, and I could not recommend a better tutor. Not only did he relate math back to things that I understand, my profession (music) and everyday scenarios, he took the time to break down each little thing while doing problems. I am a visual learner and having someone that uses different colors, draws diagrams etc helped tremendously. He also recommended strategies for test anxiety (which I also struggle with) as well as some tips and trips to use while working difficult problems. He is very patient and allows you to ask many questions (I know from experience) and never makes you feel stupid for struggling. In fact, he made me feel like maybe, just maybe, I'm not the dumbest person in the world when it comes to math. I always left a session feeling way more confident in my ability to do math. I 100% recommend booking today!

Math Tutoring
Todd has been a great math tutor for our teenager son who was struggling in math. He is very patient and calm in working with students, helping our son understand concepts and learn techniques his math teacher at high school failed to properly explain. We would highly recommend Todd.

My son has had an online math class during this pandemic, and it was horrible. The online contents for math were not organized well. However, my son's math teacher, Todd, helped him a lot, and so my son was able to finish the online class with a good grade. He responses quickly and is always ready for helping math problem. He is communicating often with me about the class; he's sent a feedback after the class. That's why I was able to know what is happening in the math class. I strongly recommend Todd as a math teacher!

Math Tutoring
After relocating to a different state, and switching from a small private school to a public school our son needed some extra help bridging the gap. Thank goodness we found Todd, not only did he catch our son up but also restored is confidence. Our son had never had a problem learning the material given but Tod was able to make him understand that it was not due to his lack of inability, he had just never been taught the material. Then COVID! After spending the rest of the year vertical, without a Tudor, our son was able to come out successful thanks only to Todd. Then GEOMETRY, another math class our son had never bee introduced to, I knew I had to be proactive before we had a disaster on our hands again. After reaching out for a Tudor again we were overjoyed that Todd answered the listing on Thumbtack! It was a huge relief, and our son was so happy to have him back, he trusts him and knows he can explain it in a way he understands it. Hello is forward to his Friday’s at 4 with Todd! He’s a great teacher, a good example, and has truly become a family friend. Our son is doing great, understands the material, and isn’t afraid of it. Everyone learns differently and Todd gets that! So if your child needs some extra help Todd is the guy to hire! He’s been a blessing in our life, and I actually can’t say enough good things about him! Thanks Todd, u are beyond appreciated!

FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My bachelor's degree is in elementary education with additional certifications in math, English, and social studies through 9th grade. I have two master's degrees, one in educational psychology from a school of education and one from a school of behavioral sciences. In addition, I'm ABD in a PhD program; that is, I fulfilled all the requirements for a PhD except a finished dissertation project. I've spent most of my life in school, so this has helped keep me current with knowledge in my field; moreover, I spend a great deal of time reading journals, books, and scholarly articles on the Internet relating to the fields of education and psychology. I am constantly studying!
- How did you get started doing this type of work? After my second year of college, I tutored remedial reading and mathematics for the Shawnee Mission School District. I worked with elementary students. My supervisors noted my extreme patience with the students as well as my desire to get to the bottom of their learning challenges. After that summer experience, I decided to become a teacher!
- What types of customers have you worked with?Over the years, I've typically worked with students with low self-confidence and struggling with particular academic subjects such as math, reading, and writing. My goals are always to greatly improve their skills and their self-confidence.
