FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing will be different for each project depending on what type of materials you want to use, the size, if you need stairs, etc. We like to meet with our clients to make sure we have all the information needed to give them an accurate bid. We offer free estimates! Refer a friend and receive a referral fee if we are hired!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our process usually starts with a free estimate. To do so, we typically visit the clients home to meet with them. During this time we will get measurements and speak with you about your project in detail. Here are a few things to think about before our Deckspert gets to your home: -What type of decking material you prefer. We typically use treated wood, cedar, or Evergrain composite but there are hundreds of options out there. -Preference on handrails. For example; wooden spindles, black aluminum balusters, solid iron railings, or wired cable rails. - Will we have to build/rebuild stairs? -Do you want a skirt/fascia to conceal the treated frame boards? This will give your deck a finished look. -What is your budget? Decks can be a relatively significant investment. Let us know what your budget is, and we can work together to create a product you will be happy within that price range. - When do you need your project completed? We will give you our input as to what will look best for your home and yard area, as well as listen to your ideas. Once we have completed our home walk-through, we will put together a bid and send it to you within 3-5 days. If you are comfortable with that estimated price and want to commit to The Decksperts as your contractor, we will email you a contract to sign. The agreement will outline the specifications of your job, pricing, and an approximate start date. We require a deposit for some large projects to cover the initial material costs. Once the contract is signed, we will order your materials and schedule the delivery. Final payment will be due upon completion of your project. We will always be honest with you and keep you updated each step of the way. Our ultimate goal is to make our clients happy and build high-quality products.
