Introduction: I am a licensed Professional Engineering with over 9 years of experience. I perform residential structural and foundation inspections throughout the Kansas City metro area. If you have cracks in drywall, cracks in your foundation, sloping floors, doors that stick, or any other structural concern, I can provide an inspection and a cost-effective solution to repair that issue, if required. Do you want more of an open concept in your home? I can verify if the wall is load bearing and engineer an appropriately sized beam to ensure you are safe. Consult with a structural engineer prior to putting thousands of dollars into your home! In addition, I perform engineering analysis and develop plans for permitting for decks, small additions, retaining walls, and other small auxiliary structures.

Had an excellent experience with Blake. He was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. He inspected out basement and foundation to ensure it was structurally sound and provided a detailed report of his recommendations and findings. Highly recommend!

My wife and I were in the process of purchasing a new home when the inspection showed there were a few cracks in my foundation. We were concerned before making such a large investment, after talking to a few different concrete repair companies. We were getting multiple "solutions" ranging from $400 - $8000 dollars. Considering none of the foundation companies were actually engineers, we wanted to get a licensed structural engineer to access what needs to be done, so we ended up calling Blake at Resolve Engineering. He was able to come out the next day as we were in a tight schedule due to closing. He took several measurements and even brought up some other things to look for when it comes to whether foundation cracks are actually a structural issue. We were reassured the crack was not structural and he gave us the best solution to move forward with. He saved us several thousands of dollars on unnecessary foundation repairs. Not only did Blake go out of his way to fit us into his schedule, he also was very thorough and professional. I would highly recommend Resolve Engineering and will be contacting them with any future structural issues.

I had water coming through a crack in my basement wall. Resolve came and conducted a thorough inspection. Instead of recommending a full overhaul of my foundation (like a different company), Resolve recommended changes in my landscaping and an epoxy filler for the crack. This saved me a ton of money and worked like a charm. Overall very professional, trustworthy, and easy to work with. Clearly extremely knowledgeable.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer competitive pricing that is a great value for structural inspections. Verbal inspections are less expensive than if my client needs a letter or drawing at the end of the inspection so we can coordinate pricing depending on your needs.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When working with a new customer, I take my time to get to know them and their needs. My occupational goal is to equip homeowners and my clients with the knowledge they need to make good financial decisions about their home. This happens best by building relationships and trust with my clients by spending as much time with them as needed.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been working as a structural engineer for over 9 years, including work at a large engineering firm, doing mostly commercial projects. I also have a plethora of experience in the residential engineering world and have been performing structural home inspections for over 2 years. In addition, I have my Professional Engineering license in Kansas and Missouri, which allows me to stamp and seal drawings and letters.
