I hired Get A Move On a week after I had another well known company move me into my new home- that company was awful. I hired Get A Move On to move two dressers the other company put in the wrong rooms on different floors as well as moving a huge couch down ninety degree steps that was too big for my sitting room. Two slender movers showed up at my door and I was skeptical. They ROCKED. They magically got the couch down the stairs (took the railing and light fixture off)-which was no easy feat. They also had integrity and let me know when a small groove was put in the wall. I expected something to happen as I wasn’t sure I’d get the couch downstairs. Excellent service, friendly and professional. I’m not moving again but if I need anything moved inside the house I will most certainly call them again.

The guys showed up a little late, but i blew it off. Then, they showed up and made a big deal about the things i wanted moved stating their boss didn’t give them correct information and they did not have any moving equipment. I asked a week or 2 before if that stuff was included in price and never got a response. So an hour into the move, someone showed up with something for them. From start to the non finish, things were not right with this company. I originally hired them on Thumbtack because they beat out the other price quotes we received. I booked them ten days prior to my move and it was agreed that the estimate would be $300 (80/hour and a 60 service fee) including the service fee and a discount for 50% off the first 2 hours. Both parties confirmed for the appointment and the arrival of between 8-9 am. 2 days prior to the move I contact the company to confirm our appointment. About 12 hours later (the following day) I was sent a message on Thumbtack from Dr. Movers asking what my flexability was for the day of the move. They also advised me they require a $200 deposit within 48 hours of the move and provided me with a link to their paypal account. They advised that they double booked themselves for the day of our move because the other client put their deposit down first and because that client had a court order to vacate. They asked if they could come the night before after 5pm. Not only did I feel uncomfortable giving a deposit via Paypal prior their arrival, I found it rather inconvenient that they pushed us out because we did not have a deposit put down that we were unaware of until the day before the move. Everything screams scam to me on this. Needless to say, we have cancelled our appointment and have gone with a company that understands the need for a seemless move. We will not be recommending this company.
