I found Dixie after doing a google search "Pet sitters in Wichita, KS." I liked that she had a website that laid out exactly what she did and the services she offered. I called her on the phone and she immediately scheduled a meeting with me and my dog, Penelope, at my house. She was very warm and kind and did not put any pressure on me in making my decision. I really liked that she was insured and bonded, as this helped with my peace of mind. It's always hard to make sure that your dog likes her/his sitter but Dixie was always great in the beginning in texting/calling me and letting me know how Penelope was. It was great to see how excited Penelope got when Dixie would come over when I would be home; this was confirmation that they got along wonderfully. If you are thinking of having a pet sitter, I would definitely recommend Dixie!

After Hours Pet Salon & Spa is run by very caring & professional individuals! Drop off times are recommend but I stopped by there on a Saturday to visit this business for the 1st time! I had my Cocker Spaniel, Baxter, with me & luckily I got him in for the afternoon! Beth Smith was the groomer that I had talked to & she was very up front about the services that were required & cost! The prices were very reasonable! I could tell that she loved her job & was very caring, especially when I dropped my puppy off for his 1st grooming experience! Also her credentials are very well stated, especially on her business card that I received! Anyway bathing, ears cleaned, grooming, toe nails trimmed, amongst other things, were all included in the cost! There are other special services & cost that were explained but there were not necessary for my puppy on this trip! They notified me when he was finished & he seemed in pretty good spirits when I picked him up! Everything was done as discussed & he looked fantastic! I have definitely found my personal groomer for Baxter! I would recommend Beth to anyone looking for a personal groomer of their own! You will not be disappointed!

About

I pay attention to detail. I will clean your entire home or just the areas you select. My prices are, I believe as little as 1/4 the cost of other cleaning services.

About

Some may consider that being a pet sitter is just a job. I am a total animal lover that considers it my pleasure to care for any one's pets.

Blue Skies Pet Care

New To Thumbtack

    About

Born and raised in Newton, Blue Skies Pet Care's owner, Ashley Klein, has a small-town appreciation for personally committing to her work. She also realized early on that helping others is one of the best paths to happiness. She has combined these two ideas with one of her life's loves: animals. For years, Klein had been asked by friends and neighbors to help take care of pets. She sometimes simply volunteered. When a friend became a friend of a friend of a friend, she realized that there was a reason people trusted her with their companions. Her love of animals could be seen in every gesture. Blue Skies Pet Care was born. At that time, she had already started working toward a BA in Natural Sciences at Bethel College. Klein was able to combine all of her interests by beginning a pet services business. Loving animals is only one qualification for pet care, though, isn't it? Klein has never stopped with just loving animals. Having volunteered at Caring Hands Humane Society as a child, and now as an adult "matchmaker", her experience with animals is not simply personal. She has been through obedience classes and trained numerous dogs, including rescues during special seminars held through the local humane society. During college, Klein has studied animal behavior and nutrition, including canine and feline nutrition, canine behavior, and canine domestication. She also completed a veterinarian-taught First Aid/CPR class for cats and dogs in 2010.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
