Sheila is a teacher with nice sense of humor. First lesson went well, will send some scales, etc. for practice.
Kanako worked with my daughter over the summer to help her get ready for an audition, and also to help her refine her violin skills. We feel so lucky to have had the privilege to receive lessons from such a talented musician. She helped my daughter immensely in that she refined her posture and technique, while giving her added confidence when she went to her audition. My daughter greatly enjoyed lessons with her. She was always reliable and punctual as well. I would definitely recommend her as a music teacher. :)
I had never played an instrument before. Jon in one lesson opened a world of learning music that I thought would never be possible. He experience and knowledge are stellar.
Toedtman School of Music was quick with a reply to my request and was flexible with scheduling. A pleasure to work with.
Our singer went to Davis Vocal Studio. She worked out her timing issues and learned some vocal exercises too. Great!
My daughter fell in love with the guitar, got one for Christmas and has practiced every day since. Her goal is to play in a band and attend the School of Arts next year. She is excited to work with Brian and achieve her goals.
Two years ago we were looking for a piano teacher for our nine-year-old son in Cincinnati. The College Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati, where I was doing my PhD, recommended Dr. Jessica Madsen. A year or so later, she started teaching our 4-year-old daughter Lara, too. I can frankly say that Jessica has been one of the best things that ever happened to us in this city. Our son Ian is into computer and video games, plays sports, has a relatively short attention span and is not known for his discipline and follow-through. I thought that piano would be just a transitory pastime for him. However, we have been impressed by the passion he has developed for the instrument and classical music in general. Without much reminding, he will sit at the piano and play not only his homework but also any piece he has heard and liked. Playing from memory and improvising are now part of his daily practice. Dr. Madsen is, in my opinion, an outstanding musical pedagogue. Her students adore her, and her house is always full of pupils, parents, and siblings. Over the past couple of years, I got to know her socially as well. She is worldly, well-read, open-minded and good-humored. I have attended quite of few of her concerts, many of which were fundraisers for noble causes. Thus I met a lot of interesting people among her audience, and her inner circle of colleagues and friends. From a parents perspective, Jessica is patient, but persistent, and possesses the rare talent of bringing the best out of her students. She really succeeded in motivating our kids and helping them stay focused. Most of all, Dr. Madsen opened a whole new world of competing, winning and achieving to them. Ian did very well at the Royal Conservatory of Music exam, won a gold medal at the Ohio Music Teachers Association (MTA) Auditions Festival at CCM, and a second place and a Complete Concerto Award at the 2014 Tri-State Piano Concerto Competition (TSPCC), which qualified him to play with a professional string quartet at the Winners Concert and Awards Ceremony. It is worth noting that Jessicas students occupied the top places at the TSPCC. We are moving to England this summer and, during our look-and-see trip, Ian had the opportunity to show off his piano skills at four independent (private) schools, where he received a tremendous ovation from the pupils and earned high praise from the music teachers. Jessica graciously offered her help in finding a piano teacher for our children in London through her professional network. In sum, I would recommend Dr. Madsen wholeheartedly and without any reservation.
Curtis has been a wonderful teacher for my son. The progress that my son made over the past year with Curtis was phenomenal. They both interacted well and Curtis knew exactly what my son liked and steered him towards that and at the same time encouraged him to learn other genres as well. Curtis and my son developed a great connection which I hope continues in future. Curtis is a positive and passionate piano teacher.
My son is learning from MS Rachel from past 3 years. She is an excellent and very dedicated teacher; she works with each student, based on his pace of learning, and individual strengths. MS Rachel remains consistent, calm, and encouraging at all times. She motivates him to practice a minimum amount of time weekly, which he eagerly does. I've been so impressed with my child's progress on piano. I highly recommend the West Chester Heart Song Music Studio.
Clinton is an excellent teacher. He's patient and works well with any level. He covers all fundamental parts of music so that anyone could be a well rounded musician.
I had a guitar teacher named Phil Black, and he was a very cool dude. But in five years, I learned practically nothing from the man...ended up getting lessons from Geoff, and now I know what I'm doing. He really knows what he's doing, but I'm sure Phil did as well. The difference is that Geoff can actually teach you what you need to know with ease and simplicity. Highly recommend.
Andy is an exceptional teacher and is very easy to get to know. He has been teaching my daughter, Sasha, for 2 years and he adores him. He has always been very responsive and easy to get ahold of. He encourages Sasha to be creative and imaginative with her music.
Michael Brad is such a wonderful teacher! Not only does he have an incredible gift for playing the guitar, he has also been gifted the ability to teach. His patience, love, and dedication to his students is evident with each lesson. We attended the student recitals for a couple of years to watch friends play, and were very impressed by everything! When my son decided that he wanted to take guitar lessons, choosing the teacher was a very easy decision. He is doing great, and absolutely loves Mr. Brad. :)
Austinburg Music Academy meets all my needs for musical education. The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. While I am free to advance at my own pace, I’m always encouraged to develop the habits sure to maximize my growth. That gentle push is propelling me to new heights in my musical skills which I had not considered possible before signing on with AMA.
Emily is a CCM trained performer and teacher. She has taught students of all ages and skill levels and makes it fun to learn through games and activities, especially for younger children. She’s patient and her lessons are really individualized. If you are looking for a passionate, young, and talented music teacher you’ve found her!
Hayley was my first ever voice teacher - she was phenomenal! I was so nervous to take lessons, or to sing in front of anyone, and I truly feel like the time I spent working with her made me a better singer. I definitely recommend her!
Talia was my first voice teacher! I was very new to singing in general and she made me feel very comfortable and really took time to work with me. I studied with her for a little over a year and during that time I learned more about singing that I ever thought was possible! She had several different ways of explaining concepts which was great since I was new to singing! She took time out of her weekend to go to operas with me and some other students. She is one of the main people that sparked my interest in singing and I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Music and I have a bachelors degree in music as well. She is an excellent teacher and I highly recommend her!
Prompt, friendly, & worked with my schedule & goals. Immediately noticed advancement from day 1. She's a pleasure to work with.
Simple, I have helped to turn out successful professional musicians (drummers, percussionists, ect) who are building their own careers now.
I have a lot of experience writing and performing music - over 30 years worth! I have a good education in music and I desire to share the love of music with others. Also, in a culture driven by fame and money I like to infuse my students with realistic expectations, humility, and a good work ethic.
I believe in what I do.
