Introduction: I'm a conservatory-educated multi instrumentalist based near DTLA. I had my first paid gig when I was eight, and have been teaching since 2011. I'm trained as an upright bassist, but I have experience playing and teaching guitar, keys, and voice as well.
I've also been playing in bands since 2001, and spent time working at a record store in Chicago from 2012-2015. So I have a solid background in music fundamentals, and a love for and knowledge of a lot of different styles. I'd love to share all of this with you!

I’d recommend Matt to anybody looking to learn guitar. I’ve actually already referred two friends to him! He’s super knowledgeable, patient, and was sensitive to my specific needs and learning goals. He’s also a really talented musician - I definitely feel like his fees are kind of a steal. I ended up learning so much more than I even thought I was capable of, all thanks to Matt!!!

I do not have enough room here to describe how grateful I am to have found Matt. Working with him has been life-changing. I look forward to my weekly time with him; it’s the highlight of my week. I feel like my musical understanding, technique, and expertise has grown leaps and bounds in the past year since I started with Matt. He has taught me so much.
Matt makes our sessions fun, without any pressure to perform. He’s professional, punctual, repeatedly goes the extra mile to make sure I have everything I need, and is super easy to get along with.
