I always try and not just take a portrait or photograph but to catch that moment. That smile of a child, a look of love between an engaged couple. I love working with people to find out what they like, or want from their portraits. Some photographers shoot portraits to make money others do it for the art. I always work to do works of art. In my spare time I shoot street photography in an effort to use my photography to show the art of just people doing their daily work.

Mike Connary is definitely 5 stars in all aspects! Within 24 hours of requesting a photographer on Thumbtack, he contacted me, answered all of my questions, came to my home, took multiple pictures in several different poses and locations, put multiple choices on a website for me to review, and sent me my requested pictures. For years, we went to a studio for family Christmas pictures and for the same price, we had Christmas pictures in our home in front of our Christmas tree and fireplace! He worked great with our 3 kids, one of whom has severe special needs. He did not pressure us to buy pictures from him - he respected our decision for just a photo to import into Costco Photo and shutterfly for Christmas cards. We were very happy with the final picture and will definitely use him again in the future!

I don't
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always studying to improve my work. I take at least one class a week on advanced photography or photoshop.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been shooting photographs since the days of film. In fact I delayed getting a digital camera for a long time just because I like film. However the digital camera offers vast improvements over film. I love taking a shot and seeing time stopped and captured.
