Introduction: Hi! My name is Meagan, but some call me MJ! I started my photography business in 2012, after first getting my BFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design (2008). Currently I reside in Louisville, KY with my husband Matt and our super chill dog Loki. Connection is key, and I love having fun and being goofy when I'm photographing people. I want to know what you love, and what makes you happy... lets get to know each other, grab some coffee, then I want to document a moment or moments of your life. Relax and just be you. I love capturing real, candid moments. Documenting your life, so you can look back fondly on that time. I've always enjoyed photographing my own family, so I eventually expanded that to include others and started my business with that idea in mind.

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography (2008) from Savannah College of Art and Design.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I knew I wanted to go to art school originally and thought I would go for fashion design, but then quickly realized when I couldn't sew that photography was the right path for me! I always enjoyed going on road trips, meeting new people, and also taking pictures of friends and family around me. I have consistently stuck with the style of candid/photojournalism as something that suits my personality best.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I believe finding a photographer that you connect with and shares a similar style of photography you admire is very important.
