FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly networking with other trainers and reading up on the latest studies related to dog behavior. My best education still comes from hands on experience. I learn at least a little with every new client and as a result, have become very flexible. As a member of the IACP, I also have many valuable resources to continue my learning on a more formal level.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started training dogs as a kid, just for fun. It wasn't until later in life when I was faced with a dog with serious aggression that I realized I wanted to go farther with this. I wanted to learn how to help others eliminate and prevent such problems.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common work involves foundation obedience to help a client gain control of an unruly family dog. I also do a fair amount of working with new puppies to prevent issues from happening and fearful dogs to establish confidence. Occasionally I am called in for more serious issues like aggression.
