"I have commissioned Nashville Dispatch Photo in the past, and again as recently as last week to take interior and exterior photos of our Nashville area facilities. We use these photos for promotional purposes, and have a specific shot list per venue. John is reliable and will do what is necessary to get the right photos to us in a timely manner. I am Texas based and John is the photographer I call on when I need photos in the Nashville area."

"Martell was very flexible with time. Although Martell wasn't available for my event, he came and setup the karaoke, made sure it worked and provided me with contact information in the event I needed him. I would definitely recommend him and use him again. "

"I have never used Thumbtack before but I am so glad that I did, because it put me in contact with Shawn. I have an announcement to all Brides, Wedding & Party Planners: Shawn is the talent that you want. I’m a typeA, plan it through to the details, in a quick time frame. I got engaged in May 2016 and planned a wedding in 10 weeks (August 2016). Not only can it be done, but is absolutely possible when you work with the best. Actually – it is ONLY possible with the best! All I knew is that I wanted to splurge with a photobooth at my wedding- and I am so glad that I did. Photo strips are such a high energy fun that all ages (even the serious cousins) loved. Also we had a number of kiddos in attendance, and it kept them corralled. Wedding was getting closer, and I’d just lost my ‘friend’ photographer. This is where Shawn came in to save the day! Not only did she offer photobooth services, but she has a whole range of talents that include excellent wedding photography. She was a dream to work with, always replied to my emails very quickly, didn’t mind my many questions, helped us ensure we’d buffered enough time wedding day for the photos we wanted- and above all, she worked with our budget. In addition, she was extremely professional and easy to work with. On your wedding day, that flexibility and friendliness is so important. I highly recommend Shawn – she sets the bar very high!! "

"The party was fun, but with PicMe Media Booth it was even better. Christopher and Quita were so much great! They knew how to bring out the animation in each person that stood in front of the camera. Have you ever seen a photographer Nae Nae? You probably will when you pick PicMe Photo Booth. We still go through the photos and reminisce about highlights of the party. The photo strips even matched the theme of the party. This was the best addition to the party and unforgettable. My guests and I have not ever experienced Slo-Mo before; it is very cool and unique to this area. I look forward to working with Christopher and Quita again in the future!"

"Picture Perfect LLC was born from the void existing in the photo booth industry. Frustrated with pricing and lack of features by existing providers, two brothers set off to create an affordable solution that offered the most advanced technology on the market for the lowest cost. We rent custom photo booths to Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana in an effort to deliver memorable experiences to those we serve."

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a photo booth rental?

A party photo booth is a fun, interactive experience where guests can take a series of photos (usually three or four) that are immediately printed out on a strip as a keepsake. When you rent a party photo booth, the company sets up the booth or photo station at your event; a photographer staffs the booth and coaches guests on how to use it throughout the event. Often the photo booth rental company provides props like silly hats, wigs and glasses. There are different types of party photo booth rentals. An open-air booth has a curtain or backdrop that allows more freedom of movement and enables more people to use it at one time. The traditional enclosed photo booths that you may have seen at the mall or the fair tend to cost more to rent, as they are harder to transport and also cost more for the pros to purchase. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500.

How much is it to rent a photo booth for a party?

Renting a party photo booth for your next event will get your guests engaged and provide a take-home favor for attendees. The cost to rent a party photo booth will vary depending on the type of booth, the day and time of year, the length of the rental, and any add-ons you select. The national average cost for party photo booth rentals is $400-$500. Here are some examples of average party photo booth rental costs:

  • Weekday packages: $300-$550, depending on features included and length of rental. A three-hour weekday package for $500 could include guest book, personalized photo strips and DVD of all the photos.
  • Weekend packages: $450-$700, depending on features included and length of rental.
  • Additional hours: $100-$150 per extra hour.
  • Add-on features:
    • Photo guest album services: $75.
    • Personalized photo strips: $30-$50.
    • Custom photo backdrops or vinyl skin branding of the booth: $150-$300.
    • Live social media connectivity (ability to share photos to social media accounts): $100-$250.

How do you make a wedding photo booth backdrop?

Creative or DIY-savvy couples can make a wedding photo booth backdrop in no time. You can ask your rental company to incorporate a custom backdrop into your rental party photo booth, or do your own custom photo booth with a friend serving as photographer. It’s easiest to make your own backdrop for an open air photo booth, which you can hang on a wall at an indoor reception, or hang from a tree or in a homemade frame at an outdoor reception.

One simple yet glamorous option is a tinsel curtain. Choose silver or gold for classic elegance, or go for a wild color like bright pink. For a more refined look, you can purchase three or four yards of a luxe fabric that fits your wedding color theme. Creative couples may want to get funky and spray-paint or hand-paint designs onto a cotton canvas backdrop. Don’t forget to provide props for your guests; the props are half the fun and encourage guests to get playful for the camera. Paint an oversized picture frame gold (don’t forget to take out the glass!) for your guests to hold up. Provide a chalkboard where they can write cute messages to hold in their photo, and colorful items from your costume box: think hats, wigs, funky sunglasses, and sequined accessories.
