FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In my process I try to quickly get to a sound understanding of what is needed, so that I can get files transferred and head straight to the editing stage. Results as far as time to completion really are up to the customer, it just depends on how many extras bells and whistles are needed on a case by case basis.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Louisiana State University in an unrelated field, however my editing expertise has all been self studied through many books, seminars, and also did an internship with my mentor D Kirkpatrick, who won several Grammy awards for editing/engineering with artists such as the Backstreet Boyz and Lauren Hill some years ago.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My start in video editing began in 2007, not editing video but freelancing as an producer/mixing engineer for music artists. At some juncture that work expanded into radio DJing which then led into video due to the demands of a client. My first videos were all music videos shot and edited by myself, which now - our studio commands top notch equipment and my skill as an editor I would confidently place as pro. Tip: the most important factor in a good video is TIMING!
