Introduction: Adult Literacy Advocates has been proud to serve the Baton Rouge community for over 46 years. Our ESL courses use a combination of classroom instruction and one-on-one tutoring. Dedicated staff and certified volunteers work together to help you reach your personal and professional goals. Come be another success story. We offer individualized instruction with: *speaking *conversation *pronunciation *vocabulary *writing *reading *GED preparation *TOEFL preparation *citizenship preparation We also have a computer lab with Internet access at our office for your use. To register, call or email us to set up an appointment. We will ask you to come into the office and take a short assessment to place you in the appropriate standardized testing level. You will then take the TABE clas-E, which measures your English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Once you are tested, we will match you with a tutor or place you an available class. You can meet with your tutor at our downtown office or at a public place that is convenient to you and your tutor. The cost of classes and/or tutoring services is $10 a month. If you would like to purchase a book, it is also $30. Books are optional unless you enroll in a class that requires one.
