FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing is standard when it comes to flooring when compared to other local flooring companies, and we do lose bids to our competitors from time to time, and in most cases it's because the customer takes our quote to our competition to compare pricing on the same product or a product that is comparable and lower in price, and being that we sale 90% of the same flooring materials our competition can easily lower the price, but what I would like for you to know is that you could come right back to me let me know what our competitors are charging and see how much more wiggle room I have to get you an even lower price for what you want it's as simple as that my pricing is standard for the area and competitive.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process varies depending on if you are a call in or a walk in. Here on Thumbtack the process will be handled the same as a call in. Call in/ Thumbtack customers I will ask what type of flooring are you interested in, style, color, floors, walls, backsplash, etc then we will schedule a date for me to come, and bring a few samples draw the floor plan out and if there is anything that you like that I have brought out then I take all of the information back to the office and write a quote, this service is free to all of our customers. In most cases what I bring out is not exactly what you are looking for.... it happens all of the time but the good news is that we are already halfway there so the next step would be for you to come on into our showroom and have a look around we always have what you are looking for. Walk in customers are the opposite, you are already here to make a selection and then we schedule a day and time for me to come out and draw the areas out and then come back to the office to work up your free estimate. All estimates will be provided within 48 hours.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I had been brought into the flooring business in 2007 and I learned in the beginning from my employer through proper training and a large part of it was actually being onsite, and working as an installer's helper to help me to better understand the job and what I was selling. I also went through the Carpet One online university and received my Flooring Consultant Certification.
