Joe Vaughn provided a relaxed and comfortable experience for learning ballroom dancing. His enthusiasm for the profession is obvious from the Initial instruction of your first steps through the final review of clarification at the end of class. Highly recommended!
Kyri is amazing! We had little confidence when we arrived, and she helped us to understand what we were doing and loosen up. She is so enthusiastic and high-energy, while somehow also exuding calm and assurance. The dance studio is great, she introduced us to an owner and other instructors, and everyone was extremely welcoming. After our first lesson we have chosen her as our permanent instructor for our wedding dance. Wish I could give 50 stars.
Edward Spots pulled together an entirely inspiring evening of dance with a likewise inspiring cast cobbled together from the underground professional dancers of New Orleans. Think what he could do if he were funded!!!!! Wowser.
Excellent teacher. Fun, positive and knowledgable.
I spent approximately 16 years in the dance studio setting learning at the pace of the class as a whole. Now, a senior in college, I am able to work a little more creatively while I both, create and learn. I believe that dancing is important for young boys and girls because it helps to enhance muscle function and teaches muscle memory. I have been trained in many, many styles and still consider myself a student because one can never quit learning. I can offer ballet, modern, jazz, and tap lessons with children of any age.

Arts and Rhythm Ballroom Dance Studio is the premier ballroom dance studio in the New Orleans area. It is owned by Irene Martin Torres, who has been involved in ballroom dancing, instruction and competitions for over 30 years. We offer many different classes during the week by appointment. Our styles include cha-cha, waltz, rumba, bolero, polka, merengue, samba, salsa, Viennese waltz, hustle, foxtrot, tango, east and west coast swing and mambo. Our new studio features beautiful wood floors in a mirrored, well-lit ballroom, with a professional sound system to give you the best ambiance while learning. We pride ourselves in our ability to make everyone comfortable in our welcoming and friendly dance atmosphere. Arts and Rhythm proudly endorses the Dance Vision International Dance Association's (DVIDA) curriculum. Occupying volumes and covering the full range of American, international, Latin American, country and western, competitive, theatrical and exhibition dancing, the DVIDA system has the most fully documented and up-to-date dance knowledge available in the world. This curriculum is the subject of daily study by our dance directors and teachers. Ultimately, the student sets the pace. You choose how good you want to be. Most students who come to us wish to be good social dancers. The DVIDA medalist program can help you achieve that goal. If exhibition or competition (dance sport) is something that interests you, we can train you in the latest techniques, steps and styles. We are also to create custom choreograph routines for your special events like weddings and Quinceañeras.

I have been practicing belly dancing since 2005 and had studied classical piano since 4 years old. I believe belly dancing is a way to inspire the potential of woman nature. I wish all my students like dancing, as I do through the classes.
Take a lesson today and dance tonight. If you want instant results, I have developed the shortcuts to have you feeling comfortable on the floor in no time. You can skip learning a bunch of steps and list of dances. There is an easier way. Wedding couples are my specialty. I cover the forgotten details, such as the difference in dancing in a wedding dress. I keep it simple and easy, (unless you want the extra magic package) making sure that any nerves of the day won't get in the way. For the single men, you'll learn how to lead a woman, whether she knows the steps or not. After all, most women will tell you, they can dance if they have a good leader, not if he knows the steps.

Dancing is one of the most rewarding social activities that anyone can experience. To let your body flow with what it feels in the music you're hearing and at the same time share that with a partner is something truly special. Dancing can be relaxing, calming, entrancing, but it can also be, exciting, challenging and exhilarating. But above all, dancing is stimulating, invigorating, rejuvenating! And yet, to those who do not know how to dance, the thought of dancing with someone else can be terrifying. A lady is afraid of feeling stiff and uncoordinated. A man doesn't want to feel awkward or clumsy especially to someone he would like to impress. And so, they continue to shy away from dancing. My service as a dance teacher stands out in my ability to make dancing easy to learn. With over thirty years of experience I've learned to adjust my presentation to the individual or couple I'm working with making it fun and easy to learn and start dancing within the very first lesson taken!
