Introduction: We offer free initial consultation. An initial consultation gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and for me to understand the needs of you and your pet(s). Please call/text me at least five days before the first visit (three weeks in advance of holidays) to arrange a time to meet, so you can share the following: * Instructions on your pets' care, diet, routines, and health needs * Any household tasks you need done Our pet sitting service includes a visit to your home to feed, provide fresh water, clean litter boxes, and walk your dog. Play and cuddles are included! In addition, I will bring in the mail, check lights, water the plants, and perform any other pet or household tasks that you need done while you're away. My weekdays/weekends service prices are as follows: * 30-35 minutes - $20.00 (one pet, usually low maintenance cats) or (dogs who simply need to be released to their securely fenced yard for a potty break) * 40-45 minutes - $25.00 (two dogs or less, three mixed pets or two-four cats) * 50-55 minutes - $30.00 (three dogs, four mixed pets, four or more cats) My stay-over service (8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) includes full-standard service for the evening and the following morning. The prices are as follows: * $50 - overnight for cats * $65 - overnight for dogs * $90 - overnight for puppies and kittens (they usually require attention every two-four hours) My dog walking service prices are as follows: * 30-35 minutes - $20.00/visit/dog * 40-45 minutes - $25.00/visit/dog * 50-55 minutes - $30.00/visit/dog $5.00/dog for each additional dog. For pet chauffeur service, I'll transport your pet to wherever in New Orleans they need to be (the vet, the groomer, etc.). I charge $20-$25 each way (fee varies according to time/distance between stops). The following information are for the additional charges: * Same-day request - (less than 24-hour notice) $5.00 extra/visit * Parking - where metered parking is necessary, parking will be added to invoice (usually not more than $1.50/visit) * Lakeview, Marigny, French Quarter, Mid City, Bayou St. John, Westbank, Metairie, Kenner, Harahan, and Slidell - the surcharge is $5.00 extra/visit * Holidays/holiday weeks and weekends - Thanksgiving and three days after thanksgiving, Christmas eve, Christmas day, week between Christmas day and New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day and Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July and Fourth of July weekend, Labor Day and Labor Day weekend and Mardi Gras season (when parades are rolling including one hour before and one hour after parade) - $10.00 extra/visit We reserve the right to add appropriate, additional time-based fees during holidays such as Mardi Gras.

I recently moved to town from Denver and was looking for a dog walker for my 3 year old Shar Pei. I had been searching for some time and was running out of options because my schedule requires only evening or weekend walks, so I turned to Thumbtack. Stacey replied to my request immediately and answered all of my questions quickly. She could accommodate my unpredictable schedule and was a pleasure to meet. We hit it off right away. So far I've had her stop by twice and she's been prompt, sends texts on how Omar did on his walks, and even sends photos! She leaves a nice report about the visit and when the next one will occur if it's scheduled. I also had a large package delivered while away and she brought it inside for me, which was above and beyond what I expected. Overall, I'm really happy with the care Stacey gives my animals. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Stacey impressed me from the start! She has a high level of integrity and a natural way with animals. She is honest, intelligent, caring and professional, which immediately allowed me to trust her. She comes prepared with a packet which included a number of pertinent questions regarding the needs of my kitties and myself. She is beyond organized which I love. An organized pet sitter truly a beautiful thing. Stacey is insured and bonded as well as Red Cross certified which speaks volumes. Not only does she have her own pets to whom she is devoted, she also volunteers at the LA-SPCA, opening her heart and home to foster animals. We have three male cats; Allie, Tim-Tim and Sammy with totally different personalities. Prior to meeting with Stacey, while chatting on the phone, I mentioned that our cat Allie has Pica and is highly anxious. Pica, is a disorder that causes my cat to chew and swallow non edible materials such as garbage bag ties, dental floss, string, ribbons, etc. It is a very scary disorder and Stacey was familiar with it. Stacey, asked apt questions regarding Allies behavior and what he inappropriately chews and/or eats. On one of our trips, I suddenly thought I had left dental floss on the kitchen table. Stacey immediately checked and verified that I had not left anything out, alleviating my worry. Allie is such an anxious kitty that he only allows myself and my husband near. It was truly amazing to see that after 4 days, Allie allowed Stacey near. She sent the pictures as the proof! She watered my out door plants, collected our mail and newspaper daily. We received a "final notice" informing us of a parcel that needed to be picked up at the post office. Stacey was so sweet she offered to pick it up. She also helped me with selecting the right food for Sammy who needed to lose a little weight. She suggested switching Sammy to grain free cat food and voila, he is losing weight! In addition, I consulted with my Veterinarian regarding Sammys diet and he supported the diet change. Last but not least is Tim-Tim, my totally lovable and trusting cat who Stacey confirmed was the most approachable of my kitties. However, Stacey spent time loving, playing and caring for ALL of our babies. Every day she sent me amazing, frame-ready photographs and informative texts which I totally loved! She was a real God send! Stacey really understands animals on a level that I've never seen in anyone. You could seriously compare her to a dog/cat whisper. She gave me certain advice and information with regards to understanding our pets and how they think. Stacey is really born to care for animals! She came into our home and surpassed all of our expectations. She took care of everything! There is NOTHING like knowing your babies are being taken care of by someone who loves animals and has such a good heart, as Stacey does. I enjoyed working with Stacey. She was professional, prompt and very pleasant. She stayed, by prearrangement, with my greyhound for four hours one afternoon and walked her three times and fed her. She sent me updates throughout the day and pictures and left me a note about the afternoon. I would and will use this service again.

After 20 plus years in corporate architecture, I was ready to trade the glass office for the great outdoors and pursue my dream of starting a pet care service business and working full-time with domestic animals. After much planning and research, I began volunteering at local shelters, fostering troubled pets, becoming Red Cross certified in pet first aid and CPR, shadowing seasoned pet care workers, joining professional pet sitting organizations and networking with NOLA's amazing community of pet sitters, dog walkers, trainers, veterinarians, catteries and kennels. I ditched my suits, put on my sneakers and voila', Fluffy and Spike was born! I love being a pet sitter and I take my responsibility very seriously.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
