I've been taking guitarlessons with Greg for the past three months. Overall, I am very satisfied with the lessons. He is very knowledgable and adapts well to students' goals and needs. I would definitely recommend him!

I bet this is probably the best guitar teacher you could ever find in Boston! I am a self-learner and usually don’t find most teachers/tutors that helpful since I can pretty much learn most things on my own. But Grey really stood out — he taught me things that I think a lot of the online tutorials will not tell you, and it is these things that will make your journey of learning guitar different! You will not only know what to do and how to do, but also why, which is extremely helpful for grasping the concepts more quickly and gain a deeper understanding.

This man knows his stuff! From the minute you walk into his studio, he makes you feel right at home. I felt very comfortable discussing my goals and what I hoped to get out of the lessons.
He is also very responsive to feedback and will adjust the content of his lessons to match your interests if you ask. He has a knack for digging into the nuances of any musical piece and turning them into valuable learning moments through a deep but measured analysis of the underlying theory. As a beginner, I can confidently say that he has helped demystify music theory to me more than any other resource.
Definitely recommend!

I found Grey on thumbtack as a beginner to intermediate, self taught guitar player who wanted to find a teacher who would be able to teach foundation music theory and strengthen my playing technique. I have been extremely satisfied with Grey, he has been great at focusing on certain topics over multiple lessons, and giving me new things to practice on in my own time. Grey is extremely knowledgeable and clearly has much to learn from, he is great as breaking down the complexities of music theory, and I always leave lessons with him feeling inspired from our sessions.

Although we have only had one lesson for my son, Grey was great. He takes a thoughtful approach and wants to cultivate the love of music and have students walking away with a good experience. He is very knowledgeable and explains things in accessible terms.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We charge a tuition rate each month which covers all lessons within the month. Students meet with their teacher once per week for 30 minutes.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson begins with an assessment of the student's current skill, and their potential for guitar learning growth. If they don't have a guitar, one will be recommended based on their physique, stature, and musical preferences. If they do have one, it will be checked briefly for playability. The lesson ends with a plan for taking the student to the next level of playing ability as soon as possibleideally within the coming 4-6 weeks.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our teachers at Hub Guitar Boston are alumni of Berklee College of Music.
