Deborah Vo says, "Aaron came today to do our monthly maintenance for our mini split. He did the best job that we have had in a couple of years. You could really tell that he cared about making sure that everything worked and was clean. He cared about our system and making it look good despite its old age and took extra effort to clean the outdoors unit. It is the most clean it has been years due to that extra effort and I know it put a smile on my face to see it looking brighter and cleaner. He carefully explained his plan when he arrived and then proceed to explain each of his steps while he did them, what he was looking for with the tests, and discussed with us potentially future maintenance that we should be doing to get the most out of of the unit. He even showed us the app he was using to monitor so that we could monitor it with him. I personally enjoyed our conversation and was impressed with the level of his effort on our unit. He respected us and our house and made us feel included in what was going on in a way that really stood out from many of the contractors who have worked on this house."See more

Before you hire anyone, check to see if they have the proper credentials or licenses. Many smaller handyman projects don’t require special licensing or expertise, but some do. For example, a task that requires plumbing or electrical work should be performed by a handyman or contractor with a license.

To find a qualified plumber in your area, search online for Boston’s top-rated plumbers. Review several profiles and look for reviews from past customers. This will help you assess whether the plumber is competent, easy to work with and professional.

Look for photos of their past work and services to make sure they will be a good fit for your project. Then, contact at least three to five plumbers and request a quote.

Also, don’t forget to double-check their credentials. For example, you can search the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters to find information about licensure requirements in Massachusetts.
