FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a lot of friends in the business and we are always exchanging ideas and knowledge. I also have a couple camera stores in the area that I love going to test out equipment and hear about the latest technology. The stores also offer classes and workshops that I attend when possible. Often times the Internet is a great source of education and development as well, and being able to pour through thousands of images and videos is something I'm always eager to do.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up with parents who always told me to pursue what makes me happy. When I first used my dad's film camera at a very young age I was hooked. I started taking pictures wherever I went and later got one of the first pocket digital cameras (about 1.2 megapixels). I became that guy who was always taking the pictures at various events and gatherings. I not only loved visualizing and trying new angles and lighting and composition, but also thoroughly enjoyed interacting with people. Some years later, I finally got a DSLR and continued shooting everything I could, and now, I am still pursuing what I love.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common jobs I undertake include outdoor portraits, engagement sessions, weddings, photographs of families, headshots, special events such as fundraisers, dinners, and other opportunities including concerts. I like to have flexibility with my shoots and although I am practiced in studio photography I tend to prefer shooting outdoors or at concert venues with unique lighting.
