Maggie has been our daughter, Samantha’s, violin teacher since she was in pre-kindergarten and now Samantha is entering 5th grade. So we have worked with Maggie for approximately the past 5 years and absolutely adore her. We find her extremely professional. She is always on time for lessons, communicates well with both students and parents and provides both constructive criticism and praise when appropriate. She can be firm with the kids when necessary but also makes learning an instrument fun through in lesson games and group play/ensemble and suggestions for young children like reward charts. She wants to challenge the kids by having them learn new pieces and learn how to read music and makes helpful suggestions when appropriate, such as Suzuki camp and orchestra. She strives for excellence in each player and has high expectations. Our daughter responds well to her encouragement. Maggie also goes above and beyond. For example, when our daughter entered a talent show at school Maggie helped her learn the piece to get ready for the show. As a parent of three children, I appreciate Maggie’s flexibility and openness to discussion when we have had challenges over the years. I think she would be a wonderful instructor for your child and would highly recommend her.Jun 23, 2018
Maggie Cerjan is a gifted teacher. She connects with the child where they are, makes the lessons fun, and paces every suggestion and new skill to the child's ability and learning style. She is gentle and encouraging, and teaches to a high standard and expects her students to work hard. My beginning student loves his lessons and loves Maggie; I'm so glad we found Stonybrook Springs!Jun 11, 2018

We are thrilled with the quality of instruction, dedication, and professionalism from Maggie at Stonybrook Strings. For both our children, Maggie has formed a strong bond as a teacher, mentor, and role model. She is extremely devoted to her students and their growth, looking for opportunities to enhance their musical education while understanding each student as an individual learner. Maggie continuously surpasses expectations!Jun 21, 2018

Fall and Spring classes include 17 private lessons and 10-12 group classes in addition to a recital and parent/student events. Summer tuition includes 8 lessons minimum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to have an initial phone conversation, followed by a lesson observation where both student and parent attend to watch me teach. I give a free trial lesson to the student after the observation and then both parties take 2-3 days to decide to enroll.
