Introduction: Danbi Choi is a violinist and teacher based in Cincinnati. She is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). She maintains an active performing career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral violinist. She has performed with Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, Arlington Philharmonic, Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, Boston Conservatory Orchestra, and many others, as an assistant concertmistress, principal second violinist or a section violinist. She has performed at renowned venues, such as Boston Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Brooklyn Museum, and Conrad Prebys Concert Hall. Equally as passionate about teaching as performing, she maintains her private studio for students of all ages. She has been praised by her students and their parents as a "great" teacher. Her principal teachers include violinists from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, and other renowned conservatories. She has received Achievement Scholarship and Merit Scholarship, while making the Dean’s List regularly. She just graduated with her Master of Music degree at the Boston Conservatory. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with a minor in Spanish Literature from University of California San Diego. Hello! I wholeheartedly understand that studying and understanding an instrument and its complexities is challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding and fun! It is a great way to express oneself and connect with others. I believe in incorporating music theory and ear training into learning the instrument, especially at a young age. I care deeply about each student's needs and desires in terms of musical growth and I will do my best to make the lessons as fun and enlightening as possible. No matter how old you are, whether you are 4 or 60, there is no such thing as "too late" when it comes to enjoying and loving music and I would love to help!

I went to Danbi for my first violin lesson in many years! I have had many violin instructors before and she was a stand out! Danbi was professional, kind, and a great teacher! We worked on bow practice a lot which I appreciated and something different than my past teachers. Most importantly, she was super encouraging as I was nervous about playing again. Would 10/10 recommend Danbi!

I’m an adult learner. Learning/playing violin is my hobby and I’m very serious about it. I’ve been getting violin lessons from Danbi for about 6 months. I’m very happy that I can learn violin from her. I find her lessons so valuable and efficient to improve my techniques and sound quality, which I care a lot about. She provides great tips on how to practice to improve bow techniques and intonation. During our lessons, Danbi provides wonderful demonstrations and helpful explanation on music theory related to the piece of music we are working on. Danbi is an excellent teacher, very professional and very thoughtful who understands challenges I have as a learner. I enjoy learning from her. I have had other violin teachers in the past. I feel so fortunate to have found Danbi as my teacher!
