Unfortunately Gill’s crew caused water damage to our home and also installed tile sloppily & incorrectly in multiple places – then abandoned us. We had a bunch of other poor workmanship issues as well, but I’ll focus on the major items for brevity. When we attempted to address these problems with Gill, he abandoned us and wouldn’t have a discussion with us. He also refused to come see the issues in person. Some of the tile problems were: unlevel installation, uneven laying, backwards grading in the niche, and depressed tile/grout in the shower floor causing pooling spots that wouldn’t drain. We also have scratched tiles, wrecked finish trim pieces also with sharp metal burrs sticking out, among a list of other issues from low quality workmanship and poor oversight by Gill. Gill’s crew used their wet tile saw indoors and dumped/spilled the water basin (before floor tile was in). This caused a mold infestation bad enough that the subfloor plywood and Schluter ditra system had to be cut out, pulled up, and replaced. Obviously not by Gill or his team, given he walked away after causing a slew of problems in our home. I’m really bummed by my experience with Gill. I really liked Gill at the start of the project. He was kind and good to talk to. I also appreciated that he was a family man. However, when it came time to perform and stand up for his work, he failed… big time. Gill has a warranty in his statement of work. He has also failed to honor that warranty, so as a message to anyone considering Gill and his team based on our experience – 1. don’t expect work of even a basic minimum standard, 2. don’t expect them to honor their contractually bound terms, 3. don’t expect them to care for your home, 4. don’t expect them to communicate reasonably. We have permanent issues with the work from Gill’s team in our home. My strong recommendation to anyone considering Gill - It’s not worth the potential trouble, headache, poor workmanship, etc to continue your consideration of working with Gill’s team.
