Molding or baseboards,
We were very impressed with Derricks work. His prices were reasonable and finished ahead of schedule. We will definitely be using Derrick for more projects!Sep 4, 2019Verified
Derrick did an outstanding job! Already booked him for another project at the house.Jul 10, 2019Verified
A pleasure to work with. Derrick did a great job installing the sliding door out to the deck. Would hire again.Jul 5, 2019Verified
Work was fabulous. He was timely, reasonable priced and he completed the job the Same dayJul 13, 2019Verified
Derrick responded quickly to my project post and within a couple of days we agreed in principle. I asked him to come discuss in person. He suggested a day to come by, and I agreed, but then he never showed up, and there was no contact from him. Three days later he got in touch saying he still wanted the work. I agreed. A week of silence went by, and I contacted him again asking when he would come. The next day he said he could not do the work. So I wasted three weeks being strung along by a person who claimed in his profile that he does not leave customers hanging (he has since changed his profile description), and nothing got done. Total waste of my time, unprofessional, annoying, rude, and sadly typical of trades/contractors who do not care or know how to communicate. Business must be really good to not need new customers. ***** Update on 10/23/19. Responding to Derrick's recent public reply: Yes, that's right -- you did not do any work. That was the point of my review. The facts are above. You agreed to do it, we had a price and a date, then you didn't show up, you stopped communicating, and you canceled. You forced me to start the process all over again and take even longer to get the job done (which I did, via Thumbtack). What some companies do in response to a negative review is offer solutions or explanations to solve the problem, or even just an apology, and maybe ultimately turn the problem around into a satisfied customer. What you did instead was to send an angry tirade via private Thumbtack message in response to my review, calling me a child throwing a tantrum, among other things, and now your public disclaimer two months later... Maybe you do great work and others are happy, but you treated me poorly overall, including after the fact. Anyway, good luck.Oct 23, 2019Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Prices vary depending on size and time of job. It also depends on how intricate the job is and what skill set is required to perform the work requested.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Gather as many details as possible and photos as well. Get in contact with the customer and discuss time and price.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Have a good idea of what exactly you want to accomplish. The more details, the better! Including a message and photos is always helpful.
