Introduction: I love everything about my job.I love to paint houses. I love to see my clients face when the job is finished, seeing the before and after of the house whether its interior or exterior. I don't charge much at all. I want everyone to have a chance to better themselves and the home they live in. I don't paint for the money, I paint for the recognition and to keep busy. To be known around as a great painter. I try my hardest to be the best that I can be. I work with what people can afford. I also do it so my father can put food on his table. I love my job. I always use the best paint. It definitely makes a difference when you use Sherwin Williams Paint compared to Walmart brand

Kevin and his crew, "The Dream Team" did a great job! They were extremely reliable and worked hard to get the job done ON TIME. Price was very reasonable... I'll be sure to call him for future projects. - Kristal, New Bedford, MA

Kevin and his crew just finished a power washing and trim painting on my home. They did a fine job for what I felt was a very good price. Very easy to get in touch with, always answered his phone. Was on time and the job was finished in the amount of time he said it would be. I would highly recommend them. I had called a few painters and his was the best price out of them all. Deb Rehoboth MA.

Hired on Thumbtack

I am somewhat a perfectionist homeowner who hired Olivers Painting Co. to paint my entire home interior while it was empty as movers had yet to arrive. Time was of the essence as flooring contractors were coming in right behind the painters and before the movers arrived. Kevin did what he said he would.....the entire interior was painted in quick order. However, in an attempt to please me and get the job completed as promised, I feel that a quality job was sacrificed. Specifically, the wrong finish was applied in all but 1 room because the paint store mixed the wrong finish. However, despite rushing to get the job started and completed, the painters were responsible for checking the paint color and finish. Also, some areas reflected uneven paint coatings, "holidays" and some sloppy work relative to missing a small area completely and taping (a little paint showing on woodwork). Remember, I'm a perfectionist. On the positive side of things, Kevin and his paint crew were friendly, engaging and hard workers.... despite coming to my job late in the day until early evening after they had already worked at another job that day......3 days in a row. Communications became a bit strained with the contractor even though he said, to his credit, that he would come back and fix the problems. I wanted to give this company a 5 star rating, however given the actual results, I simply can't. Giving everyone the benefit of the doubt due to the issues acknowledged above, I will give them 3 stars, although I want to believe they're really better than that.

Job in summer of 2015. Initial contact with Kevin was positive but we both failed to get a signed contract. Some of the work was good but Kevin chose to do his own thing after the start. We specified exactly what paint to use but Mr. Oliver decided to change it without discussion. As a result we got flat paint on house trim when satin was specified, we got a different paint on the stucco that what was specified and the frames around our storm windows, which have been white for 20 years, are now painted with the trim color of the house. Mr. Oliver's response was that they were painted before. Since we initially installed them we know that they were white. His crew sprayed grey stain on the house as requested but never covered the windows. I have been scraping the overspray off each window I find ever since. Some of them are on the third floor and I haven't been able to access them yet. If you do business with this company be VERY SPECIFIC and check to be sure you are getting what you want. Mr. Oliver does not communicate well, if at all, and assumes he knows more than the homeowner. Be very careful. We are still in the process of correcting the many errors made by this company.
Oliver's Painting Co.'s reply
As much as we appreciate constructive criticism.. I would have to disagree with just about everything you said. We went above and beyond for you. You claimed that you loved us up until the last check was due. Then you didn't want to pay. Now I don't want to put anything personal on here.. But we both know what happened in court. As far as painting and listening to your knowledge on it, And with it being my profession, I would have to say that I do know more about paint and the make up of it. Thank you for hiring us, and thank you for showing that not everyone appreciates being taken care of with all the free work we did. -Oliver's Painting

FAQs

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I got a call one morning from Little Compton,RI to paint there Town Hall, Police Station, and Fire Station. It was such an honor to be called to do that job. We had to repaint the Town Hall white, the shutters were painted green, we painted every spindle and railings black and the light post were black also. The Police Station was painted a Bannana color. And the trim was white. We powerwashed all ofthe wood siding that went from black to bran new again. We recieved such a great recognition from painting them buildings of Little Compton,RI. The people my crew and I met were great company, honest and caring people.
