FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounted bundles of three lessons are available to clients who successfully complete any of my training programs, which are already priced quite competitively. We now also offer a la carte services for training solutions that don't require a program. There's something available for every budget!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to make an appointment with me for an initial consult. During that meeting, we talk about the specific goals you want to address and how I teach. In most cases, I will begin with some introductory instruction, before the appointment ends and give a homework assignment to be completed before the next session. Typically, an e-mail is sent afterward with an overview of a training plan, or a written summary of what we discussed and planned during the course of the consult. A session for a new puppy or basic dog training is fairly straight forward and should take no more than 90 minutes. More involved behavioral interventions can take a little more time and involve taking a thorough history and more in depth teaching of the human family before working directly with the dogs. Infrequently, there may be initial appointments where I have minimal to no direct contact with a client's dog, if they are extremely fearful or aggressive.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a proud graduate with distinction and Certified Training Partner of the renowned Karen Pryor Academy Professional Program. I am always continuing my education through seminars, workshops and conferences to stay current and keep my certifications up to date. Most recently I completed the requirements to earn Fear Free Professional Certification, and have been selected as an Official Mentor Trainer by the CATCH Dog Trainers Academy.
