FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our fees typically run 6-10% of construction cost, depending on project scope and complexity, covering design through construction support. I charge $300 for an initial in-person site visit and feasibility assessment — this fee is credited toward your design fee if we move forward together.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It starts with a paid site visit, where we assess the space, discuss your goals, budget, and constraints in person. From there we put together a proposal outlining scope and fees. Once we agree, we move into design development — concept sketches, revisions based on your feedback, then full construction documents and support through permitting and, if needed, construction administration. We keep clients closely involved at each stage rather than disappearing and reappearing with a finished design.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Registered Architect licensed to practice and an NCARB certificate holder. Additionally, I am a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). This specialized training allows me to design high-performance building envelopes that meet strict energy codes while prioritizing sustainability, efficiency, and long-term comfort.
