Let me start by saying that I wish I could give Wayne 10 stars, but since I only have the option of 5, that will have to do. Our house is over 100 years old and we are preparing to paint the exterior again. Needless to say, we had quite a "honey do" list of odd repairs that needed attention. Clapboards that were broken or rotting, the railings on the front porch were falling apart, back stairs pulling away from the house, decorative trim that was rotting, brick foundation in need of repointing, new exhaust vents, and finally new doors. Wayne responded to my initial request in record time and stopped by later that day to give me an estimate. Of all the contractors interviewed, he was the only one that completely outlined the work needed with a full materials list and cost breakdown. Others were quite vague and wanted to repair or replace more than was necessary, turning the job into something larger than it really was. That is why I decided to hire Wayne, his straightforward honesty and winning personality sealed the deal. Wayne and his crew started the job immediately and completed it in good time. They cleaned up the yard after and disposed of all the waste materials as well. Earlier I mentioned the decorative trim, he had this ingenious product that was able to halt the rot and preserve as much of the original wood as possible because there would be no way to replicate the trim without spending a ton. This technique was also used on my kitchen bay window, which ended up saving me a fair amount of money in that area. Wayne also went out of his way to find a great deal for my porch door, I described what I wanted and he took care of the rest. Wayne also offered to come back and replace any clapboard that was questionable once the painter gets started. The other area where he excelled was the masonry. I actually contemplated doing the job myself, I'm so happy that I came to my senses and left that up to Wayne. He truly went above and beyond expectations. The brick foundation including the cement pad really needed help. Wayne fixed the grout as well as re-cemented the gap between the foundation and the pad, now when it rains really hard or when snow melts, the basement won't flood. Wayne had really good instincts and advice about tackling the different elements of our project. He approached the job as if he was the homeowner with a budget wanting to spend money wisely. I'm telling you, I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his crew at L & K Construction. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

This contractor was very thorough and knowledgeable, and kept me informed throughout the project. My foundation is now sealed, and my basement is free of leaks! I would hire Sam again if I have another project.

Steve and his co-worker, Phil, did a terrific job. I could not be more pleased with everything about the service he provided. This includes his competitive pricing, timely performance, attention to detail and problem-solving when adjustments had to be made to accommodate an irregular basement floor and fieldstone foundation wall, and perhaps most of all working in difficult conditions and extreme heat. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was. I look forward to his continued involvement throughout the renovation of our 160-year home.

Paschal was very quick to respond to my inquiry. He stopped by the next day to take a look at my foundation project. He followed up by recommending a block instead of poured foundation. This saved me some money. He hasn't started yet, but I feel confident in choosing him.

We hired Ray to renovate our unfinished basement into two bedrooms. We chose Ray because he offered to get us some needed ceiling height (of which other contractors wouldn’t even offer). Ray is meticulous in his approach to doing things right: From digging down our basement floor to get the height we wanted, to applying extra hydraulic cement and coats of foundation sealer to ensure our basement won’t leak, to leveling our staircase so we don’t feel like we’re falling when coming down the stairs. The renovation posed a lot of challenges which included budget/materials, broken dumpsters, and a deadline of finishing in time for a new baby. We made it through and are grateful. Our 2 daughters LOVE their new rooms and we couldn't be happier!

We contacted Sean for what we thought would be an easy/quick fix on replacing some old brick front porch steps. Once he began working on removing them, it was clear that the steps had not been constructed well originally (no concrete/block foundation, but just gravel and dirt under the porch landing). Sean gave us options, and we decided to go with a combination of granite and brick. Sean created a beautiful pattern that's reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright, and now I think our front porch landing is the favorite part of our house. Beautiful work, and excellent communication (weather didn't cooperate so well!), and the result? Stunning. We'd definitely contact him in the future.

I had a serious problem with chipmonks undermining the foundation of my 60 year old porch. Fernando came on time, fixed the opening and reset the blocks around the porch, cleaned the bluestone and cleaned the bricks. All within quote. I would use him again if I have to. He is a true professional

Bruno sent his Thumbtack estimates in a timely manner and then stopped by as per our appointment to discuss the work. He and his crew showed up according to our schedule and performed a super job. He fixed several cracks on a large retaining wall in front of my property and the did repairs to 2 sets of steps, a section of sidewalk, and several areas of my foundation that needed skimcoating. It looks great! He will be returning to do some further work on one of the sets of steps. He's honest and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

I wish to start off this review of Top Notch Waterproofing by stating upfront we highly recommend their service and below I will detail the reasons. My wife and I purchased a home in Plymouth, MA and the structure is 148 years old; and the home is situated 600 feet from the beach. As typical for a house this age the basement had a fieldstone foundation with brick on top and a concrete floor that was poured sometime in the 1920’s. As buyers of the home we were assured there was no water in the basement, however, I did not believe that from the start having owned prior homes with this type foundation. Sure enough after some rains we had not a lot of water but some weep-age and enough water that one would not to finish the floor. As I said we had this type of situation before, so we knew it was time to put in a perimeter drain and sump system; the same kind that solved our problem in prior houses. We chose Top Notch Waterproofing as our expert to address the situation. Mark the owner of Top Notch is very involved hands on working in the trenches literally. Mark took the time to go over the job and what it entails before even getting started. It was obvious to me that his 10+ years of experience doing this work was invaluable to the customer not only making the Top Notch Crew more efficient but also he has seen it all; so if a complication arises he knows to address it and how to fix it. In our case, as with many of the older homes, Mark was able to show us an issue up front before starting that we could address. You see with these fieldstone foundations, especially those on sandy soil a perimeter system if not done correctly can undermine the foundation leading to long term structural problems. Mark’s expertise was invaluable here explaining that we had the option to put in underpinnings all the way around to prevent both the sandy soil from entering and damaging the not only the system but over time the structure of the wall. Yes, the underpinning added to the cost of the job and Mark would have done a straight system if we decided that, however, given his knowledge of these issues it seems the incremental cost was a worthwhile investment vs the cost of the property or the cost of peace of mind. It is not clear to me that other vendors would have even given an option to do the job correctly because not only does it cost more but also it is also much more labor intensive than a straight system. I believe that many (not all) businesses would opt to just put in the straight system because any damage structurally would happen years later and they would not be on the hook so why work that hard. Once that decision was settled Mark and his partner Eddie got to work; and work they did. Both these gentlemen have a work ethic that is increasingly rare these days; I was at the job the entire time and never saw these guys take a break (I am not even sure when they ate lunch if at all). They not only showed up when they said they would instead they were always early - IKR - WOW! They worked long days (7:30am – night time) to get the job done and they completed a 6-day job in 5, albeit very long days. Moreover, both men were very contentious and meticulous as well as respectful of the property. For what could be a very messy job between all the jack-hammering, dirt/cement removal , cement mixing, and other job related tasks these guys were remarkably clean. The finished system is very well installed and looks neat and tidy. We could not be more pleased and as stated above We would highly recommend Top Notch! Photo below taken before total completion to give a sense of the quality of the work -you can see the underpinnings at the bottom of the stone wall - these go around the whole perimeter! to protect the foundation - your system probably (especially with poured concrete) would not need this but Mark can tell you for sure.

Marcos at Ma Masonry repaired and painted the front steps and repaired the exterior foundation of our condo-owned building. They dug a trench along our foundation and patched the whole thing with cement, then refilled the area. Their team was extremely flexible and responsive. Very pleased!

We had Gary come to repoint some damaged seams in our block foundation. He was professional and courteous from the start. He arrived right on schedule and cleaned up after himself as well. We would gladly ask him to do future masonry work for us and highly recommend him to others.

I've been working with James @Triple J for about five years. He's done everything from masonry work repairing my foundation and chimney to yard clean-ups. The most recent work he's done for me have been major yard renovations starting with a new front walkway in brick pavers (herringbone pattern which he suggested) which was completed in the fall of 2017. During his work on this project he also removed the weeds and turn at the end of my driveway and replaced it with pea stone. This August, he stripped the crabgrass and top layer of my lawn and replaced it with sod. He cleaned up each garden bed, moved plants around for better flow, used a large stone found in my yard as a focal point in the front, mulched each bed, and finally, put up a new stockade fence we lost during the 2018 Noreaster. James is always on time for quotes and meetings, communicates often, provides ideas and solutions, and he and his crew are great to work with when they're on site. Anytime I need something done, I check with James first.

Needed some emergency repair work done on the foundation of the outside of the house. Brick work needed re-pointed and some rebuilt to stop a water leak in the basement. Reasonably priced compared to other quotes I received and the quality of work carried out was great. Would definitely hire again!.

Chris helped transform an old leftover foundation of a house that was left on our new property into a beautiful rock wall. He does amazing work and took the time to walk through all of the different options we could do within our budget. We will definitely be calling him when it is time to finish the job and add a patio!

Super great guy! Very responsive and delivered his work as promised. He repaired a side of my foundation by reapplying stucco and it blended perfectly with my current foundation stucco.
