Roger Johnson agreed to refinish a 60 year old child's maple wood table, sight unseen. Table was in rough shape but had sentimental value to our family. Roger offered to pick up item at my house. Two short weeks later Roger called to tell me the job was finished. When I picked up table I was astounded. Maple table had been disassembled, completely stripped and refinished like new including new hardware for the legs. All for the original quoted price which was very reasonable. I own and maintain a wooden boat and know a few things about wood. This guy (Roger Johnson) is a talented, skilled craftsman and I recommend him without hesitation. In fact, I'm looking around my house for more furniture to have refinished by him.
Lisa did a great job cleaning out apt. We needed to pack for an extended stay while our home is being finished, and put everything else in storage. Lisa Worked around our towers of boxes, got all the windows sparking clean, slong with the bathrooms, kitchen & stair carpets. One less thing for us to worry about.
Country Rose has come to my house twice to clean my furniture. They cleaned a large, brocade-covered sofa with lots of cushions and pillows, a brocade covered love seat, 6 wing-back chairs, and a large ottoman. The furniture is old but it looks just great now and smells fresh as can be. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and they jump all over the furniture, so it gets a good amount of traffic. All the cleaning products they use are green, so the house smelled great but no fumes or unpleasant chemicals for all of us to breath. I absolutely recommend Country Rose and have already give out their cards to my neighbors who saw my furniture and want to have theirs cleaned also.
My wife and I hired John to remodel our bathroom and put hardwood flooring in our sun room. We have been absolutely thrilled with John's work. John's positive qualities include: 1. Meticulousness: We are particular people and can be hard to please, but we found that John holds his work to a standard that would never leave us anything but totally satisfied. If something wasn't right, he wouldn't just move on. He would make sure to correct any problems even if it meant more work on his end. Furthermore, with our wood floors, John's woodwork went above and beyond what we could have imagined. He hand scribed all of the pieces of woodwork around our fireplace and non-removable trim perfectly. Also, the tile work in our bathroom came out immaculate. 2. Excellent problem solving skills: I wanted to do the demo work myself, and of course I did some things wrong, which John had to fix. Also, because our house was old, there were unexpected issues that came up during the re-modelling process. John did not let any of these issues be a show stopper. Furthermore, he was very fair with the additional costs associated with the extra labor which was not in the estimate. 3. Honesty: We were totally comfortable leaving John alone with our house and belongings. Also, as I said before, John gave us a very fair price on anything extra that came up. Furthermore, he would always present options which could save us money. 4.Eye for aesthetics: Although we tried to work out all of the details on how the bathroom would look, there were still a lot of outstanding decisions that needed to be made during the remodeling process. John was very willing to give us his experienced opinion. For instance, John suggested doing a double band of mosaic around our bathroom, which we are really thrilled with. I know that I am not covering everything good to say about John's work, but hopefully you can get the idea. Lastly, not that it matters to everyone, but John is a very nice and respectful person. I will definitely be using John in the future and will recommend him to anyone I know looking for a contractor.
Tim is prompt with responses. He explained what he would need to do in detail on the phone, in a way that I could understand. We arranged for him to come when I was out. He is trustworthy and it was great to come home to my new door and new bathroom door hardware.
cleaned some carpets and furniture. Mark was careful, efficient, explained what he was doing, and we are pleased with the results.
Dennis provided the service I requested at the time I requested at a fair price. He assembled 5 pieces of Ikea furniture in the middle of a chaotic house move. We plan to hire him again for other projects.
Dave finished two dining chairs with cherry stained seats and distressed black finish to beautifully match our four existing chairs. These were new, unfinished chairs from a line that the manufacturer had discontinued that we found in Winchendon Furniture's Winchendon warehouse. Dave's work exceeded our hopes for a good match. Dave also refinished a Dean's college chair that had crackled and peeling paint. He preserved the original seal and gold pin striping and restored the chair to like new. Dave is super nice and we couldn't be more pleased with his work.
