Tried the “vetted” option from thumbtack - where they choose someone for you based on your needs. I listed I had a 2 bedroom home (it’s actually 1 bedroom but two living rooms, so wanted to ensure it seemed fair - paid extra for this too). Also paid extra for deep cleaning, interior windows, clean up dog hair, and deep fridge clean. I had to explain to the person several times what was expected. He was under the impression that he was only doing parts of the house. I showed him a few times my order. He started in the bathroom, spent about an hour in there. Then another hour cleaning the fridge. He then again asked me if he needed to do the living room. I said yes, and the closet, and the bedroom. Next thing I know he’s “done” with all 3 rooms in 45 mins. I expected a team of people for 4 hours (as stated on the “vetted report/search” from thumbtack. He told me it would take him 5 hours, however he was gone in just under 4 hours. With all of this said, the kid was very sweet. Very respectful. He did a great job for being alone. However, he was not equipped for this job. He didn’t have the tools or team to properly and effectively clean this whole house. This complaint is NOT about the worker, but rather a complaint about thumbtack. They claimed this was a vetted selection process, and clearly it wasn’t. I will say, the person did not move the dog bed in the living room, once he again realized he had to clean that room too. There was a mess back there from dog hair and recent construction. I went around and swept the house and you can see the dust pan full of hair I collected right after he left. As well as I cleaned the windows, that he was supposed to do. Also in the fridge, I specifically pointed out the dirty seals on the fridge door, those were still dirty. And the crisper drawers did not seem to have been cleaned. But again, he did a fantastic job with the freezer (except the ice cube bin which was not cleaned). Overall not thrilled with this experience.
