Jim did a photo shoot of my Uncle and his new spouse as a wedding gift from the "NJ relatives". Dennis and Patrick could not have been happier with the entire event. Jim took wonderful photos, truly reflecting their personalities and love for one another. Jim kept in touch with me throughout the entire process and delivered on everything agreed upon. He comes with the highest recommendation!!

Working with Jim was a true pleasure! He's a talented photographer, but also an extremely nice guy who's very easy to work with. He took lots of time in advance of the wedding to talk with us and meet with us in person and get to know us and our families, and the night of the event he and the second shooter arrived early and worked hard all night. The effort shows, and at an extremely reasonable price, especially compared to what many wedding photographers are charging these days. Would highly recommend!

Jim Barbere was our wedding photographer in August, 2016, and he was fantastic!!! We highly recommend him! From day one, he was responsive and engaged in our event. We first met to review the contract and to discuss our vision for our wedding... he was enthusiastic and brought creative ideas, but also listened to us and learned about who we were. He also suggested an engagement shoot, which was really helpful to serve as a great "get to know you" session and helped us get comfortable with being in front of the camera. We had so much fun! Then, in discussing our wishes for our wedding photos and learning about the size of our event, he recommended a second shooter, which was a terrific idea! Together, he and the second shooter were able to capture our wedding so beautifully in their photos. Overall, he was fantastic; he listened to us, executed as we wished, and brought enthusiasm and creativity... which resulted in the delivery of beautiful pictures that help us remember the day (which to us was a blur!) and perfectly capture the love we felt that day from our friends and family.

I haven't had any previous experiences with photographers. My wedding was a small family event, and my fiancé and I planned it in a short period of time. Through some online research, I discovered Jim Barbere Photography and was amazed by his artistic talent and great ability to catch the right moments! We started with a winter photo shoot in the snow and we couldn't say enough. My fiancé who wasn't too interested in the whole idea was very happy with the experience and results! Now we are looking forward to our wedding pictures with Jim. Thank you so much!

Every job is different and I offer custom pricing depending on the job - please contact me to find out more.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what is important to them and what their expectations are. Often I will ask if they have any examples of work that they admire. I also find it very important to make a connection with them to figure out the best way to extract their desired results. Mostly I try to keep it light, professional, and fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a second shooter for an award winning photographer out of Boston and Chicago for years. I have taken many classes and workshops from THEIA Studios.
