FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing varies based on what you would like from me. Any price always includes several phone or skype calls so we can create the ceremony you want. I also want to get to know you two a bit - hear how you met, what's most important to you and such. If we live near each other, I am always interested in meeting in person if you'd like. The price also will include any travel expenses. I don't generally budget for time to do a rehearsal on a separate day, so if you wanted that (often a good idea with larger, logistically complicated weddings), that would entail a slightly higher fee.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial phone conversation to determine if I'm a good fit for you. If the answer is yes, we'll have several subsequent phone calls, Skype sessions or in-person meetings to get the ceremony just right. There will also undoubtedly be several email exchanges. I pride myself on always being available to answer any questions before, during and even after the ceremony.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an ordained rabbi, so I am very familiar with Jewish customs and traditions. That said, I think of Judaism as one of many great wisdom traditions, and I have great respect for them all (including explicitly non-religious ones), so I am ready and capable of putting together a ceremony that responds to who you are and what you need.
