This company was great from my first message to them to the moment the last piece of furniture was put in place this p.m. They were timely and accurately responsive to my messages and phone call, always did what they said they were going to do (in terms of when they were going to show up, when they would call) and their workers were efficient, uncomplaining and way more communicative and friendly than any short-distance movers I've ever worked with. Highly and enthusiastically recommended!
Tom was incredibly professional through the entire process of our move. He checked in a week before and also a day before to go over the details and answer any questions I had. His team was impressively fast and had our one bedroom apartment packed and loaded into the truck within 2 hours. We would definitely recommend them to any of our friends, especially those making a long distance move (we moved from Boston to DC).
Alex and one of his men helped us move a (very heavy) treadmill. They arrived 15 minutes early, worked efficiently, and even helped to reassemble the treadmill (without us asking). They were professional and friendly and seemed to take pride in their work and relationship with the customer. Their price was the most competitive of the bids received. In fact, when I spoke to Alex on the phone, he lowered the price due to the short distance of the move. I would definitely use their services again and would recommend them to friends.
The move went perfectly. Jay and the crew were very professional and thoughtful. They were prepared with appropriate size trucks and had all the right gear. It was a long distance move and went very smoothly. They even put my bed together. I would definitely hire them again.
We hired Eric to move us out of Quincy to South Boston. Both apartments were in homes built in the early 1900's so anyone from Boston would know staircases are very narrow which makes moving very difficult. Other movers were hired by a roommate and Eric assisted them in moving a truck load of boxes and furniture some of which were quite large to a third floor apartment. Eric charges 1/2 of what the other movers charged and when they doubted furniture would make it up the staircase he went for it and made it work ! Limited closet space in old homes made it necessary for an armoire for my clothes. I would highly recommend Eric and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. We need some work done on our home and Eric is coming by to give us a quote and I'm confident the outcome will be just as good, and he is very pleasant to work with as well.
Moving has always been a nightmare for me. I dread it more than anything. I had moved myself from Michigan to Mass back in July and now four months later I found myself faced with moving again. I decided to use a moving company since it wasn't a long distance move this time and I was moving only an hour away. I got several estimates made some astronomical. Real Deal had submitted the second lowest estimate, but after checking the feedback on the lowest estimate, it was easy to see it was worth the ten dollars an hour more to go with Real Deal over the next lowest estimate. The cheapest isn't always the best and I look at companies reviews because I have a lot of valuable and fragile items that I don't want broken or stolen. The reviews on Real Deal were all good as opposed to endless tales of nightmare experiences with the others who had submitted estimates. The guys actually showed up and were at work ten minutes before they were scheduled. The guys were awesome. They were very careful with items, very efficient on their use of time, no goofing off or breaks. They had a job to do and they got there and got at it. They turned what usually is my greatest nightmare into an enjoyable experience.
Far and away the best price for my long distance move!
My girlfriend recently sold her house in Boston and moved to Cali. I was the one who handled this long distance move. The cheapest way was to hire POD to do this and we hired Born to Move Movers to pack and load the POD. Movers were friendly , they worked hard and they secured all our stuff in the POD so everything arrived safe. Great Job!
We were happy with Step by Step for our long distance move. They responded quickly to all of our emails. Their price was on par with other quotes. They were polite, punctual in both pick-up and delivery and careful with our furniture. We would definitely recommend them.
Arrived on time, movers were professional. Job well done.
The moving service was everything I expected and more. The movers were very quick and concientious about protecting the furniture. I would definitely hire them again for future moves.
We had a long distance move from Salem, MA to Maryland. Lexel quoted us the lowest rate by far compared to other movers in the area. They moved us out on a Tuesday morning and delivered everything to our new home by the next day. All of their staff was curteous and polite. They reassembled the furniture that they had to take apart with care. All of the furniture was also wrapped very well and nothing was significantly damaged.
Last Minute Movers received a desperate email from me at 7 PM Saturday on Fourth of July weekend. When my first moving company never showed up that morning I found a second, who also never showed up. It was the hottest day of the year and I was desperate. I sent a thumbtack to Last Minute Movers and within 5 minutes heard from Michael Lynch, who gave me a fair quote. He assured me my movers would show up the next morning (Sunday) at 8 AM and they were at my apartment at 8 on the dot! They were polite and pleasant (they even brought their own cold drinks), were crafty about moving furniture in the small spaces a Boston apartment allows, and finished 1/2 hour the time they thought it would take. I've already recommended them to a friend who has a move coming up later this year and will recommend them to anyone else I know who is moving. I genuinely have nothing negative and everything positive to say about my experience in using them.
John Roberts and AA Able Moving and Storage did a great job for me. I needed just a sleeper sofa, (queen size), moved quite a distance. There was no way I could do it or even friends and I. It was too big and heavy, and it was coming from a second floor. Furthermore, my own sleeper sofa had to be removed from my house! John and one other man did the job and did it well. Not a scratch, rip or other damage done to my beautiful new sofa! And they took out my old one without extra charge, to boot! John was available each time I had to call, to set up dates and times, in order to coordinate the move with the other people. He was friendly and flexible. I would recommend John Roberts and AA Able Moving and Storage without hesitation! And, as I told him, I will be moving shortly after living in my home for 32 years. I will be calling John for help during this move!
The two movers who came to my location were very hard working and willing to move anything we had. I even forgot about some heavy items and they happily removed them for me. Overall it was a good experience.
Hello All! Until now, I'd never used Thumbtack or Murray's. I now share I'm truly impressed with both! What impressed me most, was Murray's grace. They recognized my long-distance move was both exhaustive and at times overwhelming, and always exuded grace. Thanks to all!!
Ken and his crew (Steve & Mike) were prompt, courteous, professional and very reasonably priced. They worked hard and quick - all on a Saturday afternoon. I would definitely recommend DuLong Moving to anyone in need of good labor to move either a short or long distance. I was very satisfied with their workmanship and am happy I chose them. I received first rate service at a cost that beat all other competitors. With their skill sets and dedication to customers, DuLong Moving will go far. ~ Bob C., Lincoln, Mass.
I wish I knew about them last time we moved. Mackeile and Ruben were such a great help. I remember how long it took our movers last time we moved and these guys completed our move 3 hours faster. Mackeile is an exception, you don't get to work with someone so professional in his field very often, he is really Super Mover !!!! Thank you Mackeile for a great moving experience, you and your time really impressed us !!!!
I hired the movers to move a large & heavy piece of furniture, that I had picked up at a sale, from my car into my apartment. They were very accommodating to my schedule, and they were swift and handled the job with care.
These guys are not professional movers and are clearly not insured. Do not hire them! They gave us a really low quote—which was the first red flag. You get what you pay for folks. When they arrived onsite, we offered to pay them almost three times the amount we were quoted (with tip) because we saw them filling the truck and felt it was underestimated. However, this was NOT a difficult move. It was ground floor to a third floor, no boxes, just furniture for a second home—a three bedroom condo and only one room was a full set. A move that should have taken a couple hours was a full day move and hellish nightmare. They banged every wall up to the third floor—huge holes in a newly renovated condo. This is not something you expect when professional movers are hired. They also didn’t seem to think much of it, and were surprised when we refused to pay them the full amount we had promised. Additionally, they were unable to get a bureau up—we hired other movers who were able to get it up with ease without a single ding in the walls. These movers also commented the damage to our building by Easy Go Pro was ridiculous. We then told Easy Go Pro we would give them the remaining amount if they fixed the walls. Who did they send? The same guys. And it looks absolutely awful. They clumped the joint compound on, didn’t smooth it, and used the incorrect color paint. You can still see the holes in the wall where they banged everything up due to their botched up fixing it. When you hire a moving company and they destroy the space you own, you expect repairs that look close to the way it looked prior to the damage. This is not the case. Do not be fooled, they have a D- on Better Business Bureau. Shame on me for not checking first. The last photo is the “repair.”
Movers came in on time, did the job well and I will definately recommend. The price was a little higher than estimated but they stuck to the quote. Good Guys to Move with
