As a Harvard-educated English major with an interest in psychology and, quite frankly, a boatload of neuroses (if you think one informs the other, you're probably right!), the intricacies of wordplay and effective messaging have always fascinated me. After graduation, I chose to go into the field of communications, which provided me with a solid foundation in PR and marketing writing styles. Despite trying to leave this field in my next role, the passion to write -- and, even more pressingly, to edit -- kept coming back to me and guiding the projects I sought out. In my full-time positions, I have ghostwritten legal blogs for the senior counsel of a major tech corporation; edited numerous academic manuscripts for successful submission and publication, as well as a doctoral dissertation; authored Commencement speeches for a university dean; and much more. My diverse background means I'm able to tackle pretty much any project and any content that is fired my way. When you have a mind for details and have been voraciously consuming literature and media since you were very young, finding pleasure in editing seems like a natural fit. I tick all of these boxes and view each new project as a challenge to really dig into the details and minutiae. While writing presents a more creative opportunity and I sincerely love it, editing is my true calling.
