I specialize in authors, creative corporate, fitness and wellness teachers, scientists, and people looking to document a time of change in their lives. Studio in Somerville. Almost everyone comes into the studio telling me that they hate having photos taken of themselves because they always feel awkward and the results are never flattering. By the time they leave, they're talking about how much they love how they look and what a wonderful time they had. I love getting to really know people through a portrait session, and creating imagery that helps connect them to the world.

I had the pleasure of having Adrianne as my wedding photographer last year, after having hired her to snap corporate events at my firm. I can't say enough about her, both personally and professionally. Professionally, she's trained as a documentary photographer, so she's incredible at capturing those soulful, intimate in-between moments. Smiling group photos are nice and all, but Adrianne excels at catching those winks, shoulder-squeezes, and secret smiles, usually from from a funky vantage point, that are what make wedding and event photos so special. (That said, when there was a great group photo of everyone but my blinking mother-in-law, Adrianne swooped in and seamlessly photoshopped a non-blinking head from another photo, so everyone was a winner!) She also had our photos ready to review a mere TWO WEEKS after the wedding. Personally, she's super easy to work with, on top of her administrative game, fairly-priced, and a total delight. She's happy to take her cues and/or explicit marching orders, and she's also ready to give fun, creative, and quirky suggestions. Adrianne's a photographer with soul. It's an amazing thing to see the world through her eyes.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Standard solo portrait sessions in studio are $300. I do discounts for groups of 5+ people, and I also offer up to 20% off for nonprofits. Lifestyle and outdoor sessions are priced according to time commitment and location.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
Growing up, my dad was an award-winning portrait and commercial photographer in Minneapolis. His work continues to inspire and motivate me, and he's been the ultimate mentor for my whole life: showing me how to set things up, sending me links to articles and contests and conferences and other photographers' amazing work (we both love Sebastião Salgado). Both of our houses are full of each other's prints!
