What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It all depends on roofing spec and what the customer may want. However we do have a scale that we go by. We also can match any pricing if competitors are licensed, insured and have at least 10 years experience.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After our initial visit to check the condition of existing roof, we educate the client on all roofing options, and we advise client on the best approach to take. All free of charge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every year we have online training with the manufactures, and show up to all seminars offered by suppliers, no matter how many years of experience we may have.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Used to work for supplier, and was involved with construction so decided to learn more about roofing.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential, commercial, all kind of budget. Upscale, low scale, government housing.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Re-framing a roof and re-shingle-ling all over again. Big house with three sections, Took about two weeks
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask what will you do and why will you do that. If you are not educated, and understand things after getting those answers, you are probably being kept in the dark without a clue what will be done.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What life expectancy are there for this product? What type of Ice+Water shield will be used? Do you offer warranties? How thick is the rubber being installed? What is the MASS requirement on doing what you proposed?
