FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Keep an open mind, and sometimes on custom finish work, you have to remember you're paying for a specific skill thats been acquired over years of practice in the field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually went to college to study a completely unrelated field. I started working part time in construction as a summer job. And I fell in love with it. After college I realized I wanted to be a carpenter. And I took it head on. Knowledge is everything in this trade, and I picked every "old-timers" brain. Learning the little tricks and secrets of woodworking. I read and I studied, took work-shops, and I made a commitment to be the best.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's always important to meet with multiple contractors. Follow your gut, and make sure you are comfortable w the contractor you choose. On larger projects you will be interacting w them on a daily basis. The lowest estimate isn't always the best.
