Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a great listener and I know how hard it is to make the commitment to changing your lifestyle. I'd like to be thought of as a companion on your fitness journey, rather than simply your trainer. I'm a hands-on trainer in that I want to give my clients all the tools I can to get them to not only reach their personal goals, but also live healthier in general. Because fitness is not only my job, but one of my personal passions, I am constantly improving myself, soaking up everything I can in the world of fitness and health. Connecting with people and seeing them progress. Helping people who felt helpless, like folks who have chronic lower back pain, is extremely gratifying. This is the first and foremost reason why I decided to become a personal trainer.

I have been working with Dan for a couple of months now and have already lost 1.5 inches off of my waist and have gotten much stronger. I have definitely noticed an increase in strength and endurance, and my clothes fit much better too. Dan is knowledgeable, helpful, and is always adding something to keep workouts fun and challenging. Additionally, I have always been wary of getting a personal trainer because I had assumed they are judgmental jocks, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Dan is extremely patient and understanding, and tailored the exercise regimen to fit my individual needs and health goals. I highly recommend Dan whether you're a beginner or a pro!

I came to Dan a few weeks ago to utilize his expertise to train for an adventure race this winter. In just a short time I have begun to see a difference in both my endurance and mind-muscle connections. My times have started to improve across the board in almost every category important to me for the race. I needed a trainer who was open to meeting the unique physical challenges presented by adventure racing. Dan was willing to study the sport and worked hard to develop a customized routine. So far it has paid off quicker than I imagined. Dan has been a great fitness coach capable of inspiring me to accomplish my goals without being overly pushy. I said I needed someone with an open mind to my unorthodox training request and Dan has been that someone. While other trainers come off as "lunks" and zealously keep to the same stagnant methods, Dan has used some of the newest science and techniques to get fast results. I have no doubt that I will continue to utilize Dan on a weekly basis for months to come. His hunger for results has translated directly to an increased desire to train within me. At this rate I should greatly improve my placing in the race and maybe even break into the upper echelon.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am currently a Certified Personal Trainer with the NSCA. While this is "enough" for many professionals in this industry, I am always looking to expand my repertoire. I am currently studying for my NSCA-CSCS certification, as well as an ACE Group Fitness certification. I also attend conferences when I can to stay on the leading edge of training and fitness in general.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Weight training has given me a framework with which I have been able to structure my life around and has helped me make better decisions. Being fit and healthy is also a great motivator to succeed in other aspects of life - if you feel great about yourself, you may be more confident trying to ask for a raise, for instance. I want to help others experience that.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Trainers honestly want to see their clients succeed, so when clients duck out of a session or stop showing up, it is disappointing for us for more than just the loss of revenue, as we have also invested ourselves in the client, as they have invested themselves in the training.
